Very slow round
Played as a threesome behind a foursome waiting on every shot behind the worst two golfers I have ever seen. Will mere go back. And now I remember why I haven’t played there in 5 or 6 years. They desperately need a ranger.
Aeration Advice
Yes, the pro shop guy was correct; "you should call ahead and ask about aeration". My bad! Their bad, however, when aeration isn't done well. Unfilled holes on the greens and leftover pieces of the plugs are not something you'd expect, much less hear about during a pre-round call. And, only one nine was open. Fortunately my GN credits lowered our investment to a "nine hole" rate. Most definitely, do the aeration. But do it right!
Great Course
Great course well kept and excellent food at the caddy shack. Only bummer is you’re likely to get paired with someone if it’s just you or a double. Fairways aren’t as wide as Mayapple or Cumberland but still easy to find a stray ball. Overall not too hard or easy makes for a good time.
Worst Course in Central PA
Grumpy employees. We took out some first time golfers because they were interested in the game and the employees did not treat them with any respect. Really bad problem with 2in long wasps that had burrows at every sand trap. They swarmed the green we couldn’t even finish all the holes with fear of being stung. Not a good experience at all especially for new golfers. Would not recommend. We played range end the day before and loved it! Won’t be golfing at Armatige ever again.
Awesome staff very friendly
Probably the worst part of the day was pace of play, just about 5 hours to play 18 holes 5 hours and 10 minutes to be exact. A little rain shower but no closing.
Great course at a discount
Took advantage of the Hot deal ($32 W/cart). The pace of play was slow, but the course was in good shape.
WOW
Course was in great shape. Fairways were like carpet, greens rolled true. Roughs were a little high, but hey not suppose to hit into them. lol
Great shape in May
We played early on a Sunday. Course was in great shape and very busy. It was HOT!!
Had lunch at The Caddy Shack and it was excellent.
