Great Place : Walked the 36 holes of fun.
Finally got to play here and not get Rained out.
I played both courses. 36 Hole of Fun. Pro shop guy was very nice. No one in front of me. Starter let me go early. Played the Heritage Course first. I think the Hole layouts where great. I think Hole 15 was amazing walking up to it as your on a elevated Tee looking at huge Dog leg Right with huge pond, and you know there are couple thousands golfballs in there. Ate lunch at there between rounds. Great burger and fries. Second round Vintage course. Another great course. Little easier than the Heritage. But it has it tuff holes as well.
One thing i can ask White Deer to do. As a first timer there. Coming into Hole 16. There is another hole 16. And i got confused. Lucky there was someone on 15 green saying. Follow the dark signs. Might want to label those Hole 16 signs there better. Maybe a H on one and V on the other. Instead on green and brown signs. Because i never noticed the colors of the signs.
Great greens too. Some of the nicest i played all year. And if you plan on walking Here. I tracked myself little over 13 miles of walking from the start of the first round to the end of second. Including lunch time walking around. And it is up and down. Coming into hole 36, YOU WILL HAVE TO DRIVE UP HILL.
Heritage Course - Old Challenge Course
Nice course - Challenge course - actual nice sand in the many bunkers. Nice for this area. Was able to hit out nicely. Some narrow fairways so hit straight.
Good early season conditions
Even with a lot of rain in previous days, the course only had a few holes that were below average in playing condition.
Some holes there was a descent distance between previous green and next tee. Some blind approaches.
I was paired with people familiar with the course that was greatly appreciated.
I will be back and recommend it to others for the price I was offered online.
Slow pace but a solid round as usual
I was solo walking 18 on Vintage, got stuck behind 3 groups of four older gentleman. Not terrible as it was a nice day, but definitely took me over the 4 hour mark to finish up. Course was beautiful, greens were well maintained.
Heritage COurse
Very nice course in good condition. Nice layout as well.
Wet conditions
Overall excellent, some wet spots and cart restrictions, but course in general was very good and well maintained.
Good for the money
Course was in good condition in spite of recent heavy rains. Greens were fast. Some tee boxes needed repaired. Overall, a nice course for the money I paid. Would like to play the Vintage course upon return.
Only game around
Only public course within a half hour or 45 minutes. They are doing a much better job keeping up the course than they have in the past. They fixed some damage issues and the the course is very playable but not top of the line.
It’s White Deer…
As the title implies, it is what it is. Not great. Not terrible.
Pace was entirely way too slow
2 golfers. Tee time was 1:20. Did not tee off until 1:45 due to groups in front of us each hitting two balls each to start. Finished at 5:45. Slower groups should be directed to allow smaller groups to play through. Simply be aware of your pace. Course was excellent as usual.
