Mount Airy Golf Club
About
Situated amidst the beautiful Pocono Mountains, Mt. Airy Golf Club sprawls across lush rolling hills covered with lakes and ponds. There are also wandering streams that cut across the course. This demanding layout requires accuracy over distance with tree-lined fairways and a wildly undulating terrain. Golfers will be faced with tricky uneven lies as well as several blind shots. Water hazards also come into play on several holes. The golf course is challenging but high handicappers should not be too discouraged since it can also be quite forgiving, especially on the fairways, which offer some room for error. Mt. Airy is a demanding course, but the interesting hole designs are fun to play and the beautiful setting will make the round worth it even if your score is less than perfect.

Enjoyable but challenging
Found the course to be in good condition especially the greens and tee boxes. Course employees were friendly and helpful. Course is somewhat challenging but fun just the same. The only negative thing I have to say is that the pace of play was on the slow side for a weekday. Course needs to send a ranger out to keep the players moving. Other than that I would definitely return.
Tough course, but good conditions
Conditions were excellent, especially considering the recent drought. This course is very punishing to lesser skilled golfers who can’t control the ball, they will lose plenty of them. Holes 1 and 13 are extremely poorly designed in my opinion and detracted from the layout. Hole 14 tee could use leveling. Course played somewhat firm, which I like, but no problem getting an iron under the ball in the fairways.
We played in 4 hours with pretty much no waiting, we caught a good tee time with a gap ahead of us. I can see this easily being a 5 hour round on a busy day due to the difficulty, ease of losing balls, and “resort golfers”.
$60 regular rate and $40 for the seniors in the group was a good value given the conditions. Speaking of seniors, I would not recommend this course to people who don’t get around well due to the slopes and the fact that many of the cart paths aren’t close to the tees and greens.
All staff members we encountered were friendly, approachable, and helpful. Clubhouse has a nice little locker room with shower. Bar was closed but there was a snack window with patio seating.
Father Time Still Is Undefeated
Back in the day, this course was a monster for us from the blue, or even white, tees. These days, from the gold tees, it's a lot easier. Still a great layout - lots of fun. In spite of our extended drought, conditions were very good.

Very good course and fairly good condition with very good greens. Pace of Play excellent
I was fortunate to have played Mt Airey when it was private, however Chris Z has the course running like a fine oiled machine, here in the Eastern part PA. Summer has been rough without rain, this course reflects this, very hard pan and dried out, The greens do roll nice, give the course time to heal from the lack of rain, and it is well worth the $$. They always have a nice selection of women's clothing..
tough course
as all mountain courses this is not an easy course
The play was very slow and in order to play 18 we had to play the front 9 twice. This is the third time we played at Mt Airy this summer and all three times we never got to play the back nine. Play is too slow
Challenging course
Most holes are difficult if off the fairway. Greens , fairways and tee boxes were all in good condition . Starter Jim very personable and helpful. Storm blew in big with 4 holes to go added to today's difficulty . Really good test of golf .
Fun but tough course
We played this course as a 4 man scramble. This course is amazing and in very good condition. I highly recommend it but go into knowing you may lose a of golf balls even off of good shots. It does test you with blind shots and very narrow fairways. Greens were tough to read along with tough pin placements so thankfully best ball was a savior! The blind shots unless you've played it multiple times before, distances are difficult to judge and hard to judge the slopes. Despite the toughness, I would definitely play there again and it’s got a nice clubhouse for meals!
WTFairway?
This is a beautifully manicured course but the most difficult "resort" course I ever played. If I wanted to get beat up that much, I'd have played the table games instead of the golf course!
Fairway are narrow and many times obscured or narrowed so much by hazards that it becomes practically unplayable. Greens have lots of subtle breaks that even short putts are easy to miss.
Lots of blind shots (as you often get at mountain courses but unless you've played it multiple times before, distances are difficult to judge and with funky bounces possible in lots of locations, you can lose your ball on a good shot.
I actually played pretty well but only because I control my ball and got a couple of breaks on shots I thought might have gone into hazards. So I would only recommend this course for highly competent golfers, not weekend warriors or random hotel guests.
Stunning
First time playing the course while vacationing in the poconos. This course is tucked away in the mountains with outstanding views. First hole was daunting, made a mess of it, but recovering after that with hazards that come into play on every hole makes this a challenging course if you don’t play it smart. The 9th par 3 with an elevated tee was breathtaking and put a smile on the group no matter how they were playing. Overall had a blast and will definitely be playing again.
Beautiful
Perfect fairways to hit irons off of. Level lush tee boxes. Great greens. Interesting and fun layout. Difficulty level is definitely on the higher side.
Small disappointment
Disappointed in the course conditions, did not see a single raked trap by either staff or the golfers who were out in front of us. Grass growing in a couple of bunkers. Given the fees I expected an extremely well manicured course front to back.
