Excellent course!
This course is in excellent shape even after being aerated just recently. Call about league times before making tee time .
Pine Hollow
Great course. Fairways were a little burnt out but still in fairly good condition. Greens were fast. Only advice I would give would bring the Deep Woods Off cause there were gnats EVERYWHERE!!!
Pine hollow golf
Course was in excellent shape the greens where really firm and fast. Pine hollow always runs a class A facility and has great customer service. If you don't book through golf now or some other booking agency pine hollow does get a touch pricey. They are very proud of their course which is ok on the weekends. Overall excellent course.
a round of golf
I enjoyed my round and the greens were exceand the staff was very helpful
Very Nice Course
course in very good condition with friendly staff. a couple of quirky holes with more than enough doglegs for my taste.
Course worth your money
Very nice and fair course to play. The only negative comment about this course.......greens we're extremely fast. However, they ran true! If you want to play a real golf course and be somewhat challenged...this is for you! Enjoyed playing here!
Great golf to relax!
This is not a very tough course, at all, but it is perfect to relax and practice making shots.
I will definitely be back!
They were resodding a few holes, had aerated sometime in the recent past, so that lowered the quality, slightly. But it will look great when everything grows back in.
The greens are pretty fast and in good shape, so stay below the hole!
Great Day
Really enjoyed my round of golf on this day. Pace of play was great we played as a twosome and never waited on anyone the entire round. Course is in great shape.
Wish it were closer to home!
I really like this course. Difficult enough without being crazy. Was aerated this week, so holes everywhere and greens bumpy, but I knew that before going. I would recommend it for all levels.
Rode (and played 2 rounds) as it was close to 90 degrees, and it allowed me to get around twice in <5 hours. just wish it was not 40 minutes from home, or I would play it all the time.
(PS on the GolfAdvisor website there needs to be an option between once a week and once a month)
When it rains, play Pine Hollow
The course received 2 1/2 inches of rain than night before we played at 9:00am. You could barely notice that it rained at all. By the third or fourth hole there was no way to know.
The course layout is friendly but challenging, and the staff is excellent.
The only disappointing factor was that they had two walkers in front of us and they were holding a play but there were no rangers to force them to let people through and they were not going to do it on their own accord. They were so slow that eventually foursomes were catching up with us.
They could use more Ranger supervision on the course.
Nice and Big Improvements a plus
Course looked better than ever! A lot of work has been done and it is a fantastic course now. Staff was awesome. Greens were in awesome condition. The only negative I had was there's a lot of old timers around and I went out as a single and I played from the back, someone played from the blues, someone played from the whites and then another golfer played from the reds. 4 different carts also. One guy commented that I should be a tour pro because I placed 5 balls in the practice sand trap prior to the round and I hit them on the practice green 20 ft from the hole! 20 ft is not good folks! Playing from the back tees is no problem for me but I really don't like the comments from these jokers who hit there tee shots 200 yds max. One guy didn't even introduce himself correctly and his 1st words to me was what's your handicap because I'm playing from the back tees. Course is Fantastic though. Highly recommend.
Great course....even at full price
Played this course many times over the past couple of years. The greens seem to be in the best shape ever. Quick, but not fast and there is only one that has experienced burn. Staff always friendly and food service always nice at the turn.
Best value in Raleigh area!
I have played here several times as the staff is very friendly, the cost is reasonable and the course has great greens. Lots of choices when you go out to play, but many are over priced and lots have staff members that make you feel like they are doing you a favor taking your money. The staff here get to know you and yesterday after my father checked in I walked through the shop to get some drinks and the pro said hello using my first name. I have friends that like to go pay twice as much at some of the other courses around, but I always prefer to play at Pine Hollow. Hole 17 is one of the best around!
Excellent course
This is one of my al time top course. Very nice and playable course for a novice like myself.
Pine Hollow
Nice track with some fun holes. They redid their greens in 2012 from bent grass to bermuda, and I do not like them nearly as much. The greens were extremely firm and not receptive to good spinning shots at all. Pace of play was rather slow considering to course did not have much trouble. I doubt I will go back to play here for quite some time. The value for the price was good.
Good course
That is good course. Nice and beautiful. That is good course. Nice and beautiful.
Nice greens
Great layout and I always look forward to the speed & smoothness of the greens.
B+ Overall
Pine Hollow is a course that has some tough spots (the Par 3's) but for the most part is a very fair and scoreable 18 holes. The par 3s are relatively difficult with 3 of them playing +200 yards from the blue and the fourth one plays to a pennisula green. The par 5's are short and accessable in 2 from all tees. The greens have been replaced and are rolling well, but they are too bouncy. Not one ball mark did I leave even when hitting high wedge approaches. Play it short and roll it worked better than hit it to the pin and stop it. Overall, this was my first round there in about 2 years or since the greens have been replaced and I am looking forward to going back.
What a great day
After playing several courses in NC we were pleasantly surprised that this course was in such good condition . The greens were fast and undulating so need to be able to read them well.
Some water holes mainly on the first nine, so wouldn't suit a beginner. Lovely surroundings and very relaxing day.
The staff were very friendly, especially Ann behind the bar who makes a great breakfast sandwich.
Looking forward to playing again before returning to the U.K.
