Great First-Time Experience.
The course was in transition from the winter to spring. The greens are in great shape. The fairways have not come in full yet but were very playable. Pine Hollow is challenging but fair needing well placed tee shots for a controlled approach to fast greens. While it was a true test, the weather was beautiful and the perfect golf day.
lightening greens
The green were the highlight, lightening fast. They rolled very true, thoroughly enjoyed my round and look forward to going back...
Pace
Took way too long. Tee'd off solo at 4pm and caught up with everybody at #6. Skipped #6 played #7 got to #8 and there were 6 foursomes on #8&9. Went to back 9 and it was jammed up too. I enjoy the course and it's never taken that long, but it was miserable that round
Black greens
I played the course, it was 20 bucks, a pretty good deal for this course. I came out at 4:30 and they had already covered half of the greens. Not the front or back but just random greens. Course was in good shape but I would have liked to received a rain check or maybe a further discount seeing as I didn't really get a round in. I drove 30 minutes to get there so I didn't have much leverage in the deal.
great greens terrific value super friendly staff
Fantastic value with great greens...course is tight off the tee but not overally long...need to think your way around the course. Would love to see more sprinkler heads with yardage or GPS on carts. Cart path only this day, but that is rare.
The course was in good shape considering the time of the year.
The price was great due to golf now discount. It made the day worth it all. The starter was very respectful and informative. We had a great day golfing!!!
Will Play again
Excellent course and will definetly play it again. It was my first time there and with a couple of blind shots you really tend to be conservative. Great layout and cannot wait to play again. Greens rolled true however difficult to hit a shot into the greens and hold. Apparently the greens are the new mini Bermuda grass. Reportedly next year they will be much better.
Wish I had been playing it sooner!
I really enjoyed my round at Pine Hollow - for me it goes on the list with river Ridge and The Neuse of my go-to courses. I was a little intimidated by the length of the course from the scorecard (not an especially long hitter) but ended up enjoying the challenge. Lots of water to contend with on the first few holes, but wide fairways and soft greens helped. I found the course really enjoyable to manage my way through - very mentally stimulating. The free range balls and nice putting and short game areas were great as well - always nice to be able to warm up before the round. While it was not a big concern of mine you can't hit driver on the practice range. Only issue was it seemed like the course got pretty backed up - several slow groups ahead meant playing through really had no point. I will definitely be back!
Awesome course.
I played it a month or so. And I wanted to go back the first chance I got.
Nice course with super friendly staff. Will come back again.
Enjoyed the course and will come back many times in the future along with my wife.
Quick Bermuda Greens
Course is in very good condition. Greens are going dormant, so getting quick. Rolling very true. Fun layout with strong par 3's from the back tees (6,500 yds).
Good greens
Every since Pine Hollow switched to Bermuda greens, they have been very good.
Pleasantly Surprised!
I picked up a early afternoon tee time on here for $15 and went into it with high hopes! This course came through ... the conditions are great compared to the others I have played in the area and it does offer challenges for us lower handicappers.
Pros:
-Though the par 3's were relatively easy the pin placements always made me second guess my gut instinct.
-All greens rolled true and consistent.
-Great looking fairways and though I didn't find one; the bunkers looked pleasant as well.
Cons:
-New greens but they will be great when they mature.
-Driving range is limited to 240 yds
Like the greens, new grass. Need more rough grass.
Pace of play was slow the 1st 9, playing behind a men's league. Fairways were good, rough needs more grass.
Starter let me start early with another single. Nice man who is a member that helped me with yardage.
Enjoyed course; better condition than expected
Moderate challenge, not too difficult for duffers. Course is in very good shape; fast greens
Nice conditions, nice staff, and good deals.
Nice conditions, usually has deals on GolfNow, and a friendly staff. Only criticism is it can get very backed up in the mornings even during workdays.
Good course: challenging, well maintained and a fair price for the area.

Very nice course, very well maintained.
Staff was super friendly. Course was beautiful. Definitely will be going back.
Great staff. Very good condition.
Watch out for men's group play Tuesday and Thursday
Pine Hollow Continues to Rock
Several years back we found this course and decided to give it a try. It has become our go-to course for a great golfing experience. The Triangle has good golf and I genuinely feel that Pine Hollow is the best value in the area, bar none. The staff is always very friendly, the whole place is laid back, the greens fees are extremely fair for the course you get to play, and the overall course conditions are always solid. The Wake County Amateur is held there, so it's never in bad shape. Food/beverages are very fairly priced, as well.
Here is an example to how great the service is at Pine Hollow. Yesterday I was practicing my putting in the living room at my house while watching the British Open. Not until I got to the #1 green at the course did I realize that I had left my putter in the living room. I called the proshop and the starter came out with a huge smile on his face and a putter in his hand. This was within 3 minutes of my phone call. Little things like that will always keep you coming back. Kudos to Pine Hollow. I strongly recommend this golf course.
