Sweet
Very nice and fair layout, placement key to scoring. Greens where hard considering amount of rain received last couple of weeks.
Fine, Not Great
Had my hopes up from reading the reviews here but wasn't overwhelmed. A few really nice holes but otherwise unexceptional. If I lived closer, I would probably be more inclined to return, but I likely won't go out of my way to make the drive from from Raleigh. Back 9 feels a little packed into a small area. I am probably being a little hard on it since it was in good shape, and the staff was awesome, but there are courses the same distance from Raleigh that I would return to first.
Great Track
Had a very slow round for being a week day. Couple of guys left after 9 holes. great course considering no where to go when backed up. Back nine went much faster when the groups stretched out. Very friendly staff. Right on the Johnston county line and is a very close second only to The Neuse in Johnston County. Riverwood, is close by, couldn't even clean their shoes at Pine Hollow. They need to send their staff there for an internship to see how to run a course!!!! Will play there again and bring my guys for a good round !!!!
well maintained, fairways and greens are excellent
Great small course, short yet challenging, shot placement is a must. Greens run true with good pace. Clubhouse grill is excellent. Top 5 of my favorite courses.
Nice and challenging course
I moved to Wake Forest area after living all my life in South California. I have only played at hand full of courses in the area trying to find one that Would be my top pick.
My neighbor told me about Pine Hollow and I should give it a try. And I did!
So far this course is the winner for me. From fairways to greens. Rough to sand traps. Pine Hollow is in great condition. Played 18 on a Sunday in just 4hrs.
Pro shop to starter all were friendly. Golf carts were just washed down and clean.
I am planning on playing here again and would recommend it to fellow golfers.
Hidden gem.
Interesting and challenging layout. Course in very good shape. New but true greens; will only get better and better. Plan to go back soon with group and play it again.
Very Quality Experience
Thoroughly enjoyed my first experience at Pine Hollow. The greens are the new bermuda greens. They're fast and great quality. The course was a fun layout. Open and friendly to the average golfer, but also had some difficulty. I would love to play here on a regular basis.
Great golfing experience.
I would play at Pine Hollow anytime. Everything about the experience was great. It was a beautiful day with a lot of other golfers out causing a back up, but not too bad.
This course has every kind of shot. Requires accuracy. Greens were in great shape.
I have played this course several times. It has a beautiful island green on the front nine as well as a great par 5 17th accessible in 2 shots with water guarding the right side of the green.
Enjoyable course for all handicaps!
Greens were a little slower than normal, but rolled true. Overall a fun course to play and easy enough that my wife loves playing it. The staff at the course treat you like you would hope to be treated at all courses(that you matter).
Pine Hollow
The course is in great condition. New greens were put in last year and they putt very well, however, they're still very firm and I had difficulty holding approach shots even with wedges.
Nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon
This course is usually in good shape. The greens were completely redone last summer. It's not going to wow you with picturesque views or lots of tricky shot choices. Just a fair test of golf with consistently decent conditions. The pros are always pleasant and helpful.
**Only issue i have had is that the last few times, the starter was pushing people out and being a bit grumpy about it. To the management.. Please remind the Sargent that we enjoy our pace of life here and don't enjoy being chased around the parking lot just to be in a log jam two holes in.
Greens in great condition and true but fast & challenging.Interesting holes make it fun to play and a very pretty course.
Be prepared for greens that can run like on concrete and true and fair. This course-I've played it twice-plays longer than the markers would suggest as many of your 2nd/3rd hits are uphill but can be deceivingly so.Again, once you know this and use a little more club, you have that problem solved.
If your a 24 handicap and senior like me, you will still have challenges, even from the shorter senior tee but a great and fun course to play.
Greens are best around!
Played in December and the greens were in amazing shape! Can't wait to play in the Spring.
Terrific greens!
Always enjoyable. Great greens. Staff is welcoming.
Old style course that's fun to play. For December the course was in nice shape.
Nice course
This is only the second time that I have played the course but really enjoyed it. The greens are new and fantastic! Some of the best in the triangle. Greens are large and very receptive. The course is pretty wide open but still challenging. The par 3's are challenging and well laid out. I live in Cary and its an easy drive that is all highway. Staff is very friendly. The only opportunity is that the driving range does not allow drivers or long clubs. Otherwise, a great course. Can't wait to play it when the weather is warm.
New Greens
I was told by the people I played with, I will assume regulars, or members, that they recently had new turf of their greens. The greens were in really good shape for being so new, ball rolled true. It will be good to see how good they are in the spring. All in all, this track always delivers a challenge, and always a fun time.
Course in great shape. Greens were cut super fast.
This was a great choice. I had not played the layout in 10 years and was pleased to see a better course. Greens were cut US open fast for some reason, but it was still true putting. I was unable to rate everything correctly due to the sliders not working in the rating boxes except for the extremes. Fix this Golf Now!
The greens are phenomenal
Paid $39.00 (morning weekday rate) to ride 18 and a bucket of range balls. Despite having received quite a bit of rain over the previous 2 days, the course was in great shape. The greens were as good as a course you'd expect to pay twice as much to play. Very quick, very true, very fun.
