Good golf course
This course is fairly open and forgiving, but the length and the water hazards make it a challenge. The sand traps are the only bad thing with this course. I can't understand why it isn't that busy. I have golfed a lot of courses in this area and it is as good as any. I find this course a great place to play.
Great layout
Course could use some work but has huge potential and is a wonderful place to play. Love it!
Links course?
The grass was so long it could have been considered a links course although I believe it wasn't intended to be so. It was probably the muddiest course that I've played, ever.
Bad Experiance
When I called to see if the Golf Now hot deal was still open I asked if the course was aerated he said no. When we got there it was. Then when we got to the back nine one of the workers was working on the 10th green and told us that seven of the nine greens on the back were closed and that there where temporary greens. So we ended up playing the front nine twice with greens that where aerated. The man in the pro shop when we checked in never mention this. If we had known this we would have gone else where. We will not return to this course.
Nice Course
I went with three other buddies. This was a course that was fairly open. It definitely had some challenging par 3's. The only downfall is that the driving range looked like it was just a grassy area with flags in a line. No type of tee boxes or mats. Besides that it's a very nice course that I will definitely visit again.
Goat Path
Tee boxes are terrible. Bunkers are sand less. Fairways have no grass and the greens are the worst in western PA. The bugs are like you are in a jungle.
Couldn’t be the furthest from the truth ...just played and it was wonderful. Greens are true, what you read is exactly how the ball travels. Smh @ Nora
Ok to play
Greens hard but in good shape fast, fairways at times bad shape had to find grass. This course was in better shape in the late spring early summer. All in all good value.
The course was open didn't loose to many balls.
Very open course fairways were in good shape greens were good
best bang for the buck ive ever had
excellent greens and fairways. no bugs or gnats manitou is a treasure to have close to me.
Needs TLC
I have played this course about 4 times this year. The course is in need of TLC. Some tee boxes do not even have grass, tee it up in the dirt. Lots of areas under repair, for a long time...... Nice place to play if you get the Golfnow hotdeals. With more TLC I will be willing to open my wallet a little wider.
BUG CENTRAL!
This course was nice except for the gnats EVERYWHERE. There was barely a shot anywhere on the course where they would not swarm all over you. As soon as I came home, I had to take a shower. They were in my ears, eyes, nose, hair and mouth. I have NEVER seen a course this bad! I was so close to walking off but a friend was with me and he came a long way to get there. I have been to MANY courses in the US and never encountered anything close to this bad. Oh, and the water hazards were putrid with dead fish floating in them. Looks like all they do at this course is cut the grass and nothing more to make it enjoyable. I wouldn't play here again if they paid me $30! Sad to see all the other golfers spending more time swatting gnats than hitting shots.
A Solid Course!
Blue tees challenge the Low handicapper and the white tees are Good for even the higher single digit golfer. A LOT of potential for sure. Please fix the unplayable mud/dirt bunker on the 10th hole! It reeks of Bad course maintenance . Bottom line.......Good to Very Good!
Course needs alot of work.
Cart paths need a lot of work, greens were slow and damaged.
Average Course
I played this course a week ago with a friend. I just began holding this year so my average round is anywhere between 100 and 120. That being said, if found this course to be about the same difficulty as some others in the area, but it is in dire need of maintenance. The tee boxes are all tore up, most bunkers have no sand in them, and the greens have hit or miss bald spots. The cart paths are probably my worst complaint though. Wouldn't be bad if the carts had a suspension haha. This course has some open fairways and its challenging if you typically hit a slice on the drive. Overall it's a nice moderately difficult course, with just enough challenges. Will play again.
Mannitto
Used golfnow to schedule a tee time for a Sunday afternoon. Price was excellent. I had not played this course all year due to the increase in green fees over last year. I still won't play here unless I get a great deal. The tee boxes were flat, but they do not take care of them very well. There are lots of areas that need attention. The fairways were the best part of the course. The fairways were cut nice and well manicured. There are a few bunkers on this course that have no sand and have not had any maintenance. The greens were firm and not cut that am. Overall this is nice course, challenging in many ways; but lacks maintenance. I recommend this course only if you get a good price.
Getting better
They have changed the layout now the back 9 is the front 9 which messed up my Gps at first. The course is a long one and not many short holes with the par 3's being over 200 yards.
There are about 5 holes that dog leg left and the straight holes have either sand or water hazards to work around to add to the challenge.
Sad, Sad, Sad
For the last 20 years I’ve been playing the course and it has been really nice, but lately it has been going down hill. Let’s start with the cart paths. They been beat up for many years. Put some gravel down people. You would be surprised what a few loads of gravel will do to your place. Old number #1. What is up with the empty bunker around the green? Fill it with sand or dirt. What a big eye sore. It goes to show you guys are not putting any money back into the course. Take a ride around and see for yourself. It’s sad. Your course is not worth the money that you are asking for. I know, don’t come back. What if everybody felt like that.
1madgolfer.
This course has seen better days.
Tees are in bad shape, fairways are OK, but the greens have some kind of disease on them. This used to be a very nice course, but I was disappointed with the way it's been let go. Needs some improvements for sure. The bunkers are the worst I have seen. Would I play here again? Yes, if it gets some Tender Loving Care.
Worth playing
Fairways in great shape. Greens have some spotty fungus, but roll true. Tees hit or miss.
You’re probably a spoiled city boy lol this course is awesome especially for its value. Yeah, if you go hourly after a rain and you’re in the low lying areas it will be a little muddy in spots but so are just about every other public course. This course is beautiful, can offer a challenge yet forgiving, rarely crowded so you can relax and play your pace, you actually get to use all the clubs in your bag bc it’s longer than most especially from the blues, grass could be shorter but still nice to play. I played on a weekday 18 holes for 20$ and it’s nicer than most public courses in this area. Stop complaining and join a country club if you don’t want to get your footjoys muddy.
