nice course
little challenging nice for all players will play it again
Cheap golfer
For the price you can't beat it.
This golf course needs some major drain work on the back 9... but in their defense it has rained almost everyday this summer.. very nice front 9... helpful staff. Go play it.
Golfnow
Only thing that was bad were the bunkers, they could just grass them in to make it better.
Tons of Potential
I grew up in the area and used to play this course frequently. After moving away I finally had the chance to come back after about five years and mostly got what I expected.
The course is located in a nice rural setting. Their really isn't a pro shop, but it's a nice building with a restaurant and bar upstairs. There is a very nice putting green to warm up on. The price of $38 for a weekend was probably slightly high, but not way out of line.
The fairways and greens were in good shape. The greens held for the most part and if it wasn't for the occasional light rain and humidity they would have been a little faster. To be fair, there has been a lot of rain in the area over the last couple of weeks. I was also pleased that the ball washers were filled with clean water (a pet peeve of mine), but the tee boxes could have been in better shape.
My biggest disappointment was the bunkers. Most weren't taken care of and it's a shame because the course is well designed and if manicured they would really add to the course. I always felt this place had tons of potential, but ownership never really seems to want to put anything back into it. I believe they could draw golfers from the Pittsburgh area with a little effort, but it remains unclear if the commitment was there.
Overall it was a good experience. If you're in the area and want to play a pretty well designed course with light play, this is the place. Be prepared for a few gnats since there are a lot of trees and expect to be challenged by the long par 3s.
Mannitto Golf Club
Mannitto is not a bad course but it is nothing special. It can be a challenging course because some of the holes are quite tight (think Champion Lakes but not as often). Most of the greens are diseased.
With that said, I paid $15 for 18 and a golf cart. For that price, I will gladly play at Mannitto. If you are out of town, it's not really worth the drive. I live 10 minutes from the course so I play here a couple times a year.
Fast & fair
I played on a Sunday afternoon, the rate was great, $29. The course was in good shape, the greens are fast but fair, once I got the speed down putting helped save my round. this course makes you think about your shot selection, I'm definitely going to play it again
Good Deal
Course was in excellent condition and the weather was beautiful.
Course must decide what they are doing with many of the bunkers, which have little to no sand in them.
Challenging course
Most holes are quite challenging with varied terrain and obstacles. The par 3's are the longest you will play this year
This course is not recommended
The course is terrible . Would not recommended . Carts from 1920 no covers rained that day clubs got soaked. Greens terrible traps unplayable
All around good challenge.
Played a midweek round found course to be in very nice condition for late April. Greens were in good condition and rolled smooth and above average speed.
Just a few soft spots in the fair way/rough from wet weather soaking the area. Mannitto has a nice variety of holes, tough par 3's.2 reachable par 5 holes. This is course that deserves to be played a couple of times per season.
OK Track
Some tight fairways, some open holes. Greens were extremely fast, but the course layout is basic, other than a few nice holes. Mostly wide open, but challenging with fast greens and long holes. I'd play it again for variety. Not much for course amenities, club house, etc.
