Grand View Golf Club
About
Grand View Golf Club in North Braddock is one of the area's most challenging layouts. The course's 160 acres were carefully carved from a woodland hilltop. From its perch, the golf course overlooks the Mon Valley with views stretching to the Edgar Thompson facility, Western Pennsylvania's first and last major steel mill. The distinctive layout will test your creative shot-making skills. It may seem relatively short at 6,111 yards from the back tees but it feels much longer thanks to the rolling fairways and undulating greens. The tight fairways are lined with cliffs, brush, and trees, leaving little room for error. You should also be prepared for forced carries and tricky doglegs. Grand View Golf Club can be punishing for the low handicapper, but high handicappers will find this course to be a unique test of their skills.

hole 14 - par 3( 90 foot elevation drop) Photo submitted by vdlemonade on 04/22/2013
Tight course
Course was decent shape. They had just punched the greens but that was not weighing in on my rating. This layout is very tight and holes are on top of each other. This perhaps could have been a really nice 9 hole course. It’s on the top of a mountain so many blind holes and short drives. Only played one other course in Pittsburgh on golf trip which was quicksilver which I gave a five rating
Nice course and greens
The course is fun, greens are nice. The tees are chewed up and barely mowed on most tees
Pace
Pace behind a senior group was a little rough but there was 4 and then just us following (2) and then replayed another 9 and got stuck behind teenagers and watched them hit 6 shots each off the tee box on number 13 and the ranger questioned us on our pace when we were stuck behind that show. So for course it’s not bad at all. Staff was ok
Tough Course
You need to hit good shots to score, bad shots will be penalized. I like the course a lot and will play again.
Fun course
Target golf, but this course is fun if you are willing to play smart. Course was in good condition. Greens roll well. Keep it in play and you will enjoy this.
Won’t play again
Too many blind shots which slows the pace of play. Also staff didn’t pair singles or two players with other singles or two players with close tee times which also caused slow pace of play. We as a twosome we’re behind a single who was behind 2 other twosomes.
Definitely Grand Views
The course would be worth the views alone. The layout is fun but challenging. Holes are well designed. Greens were a little inconsistent, and it is easy to lose balls, but I had a good experience.
Wasted potential
It’s really disappointing because this course has so much potential, but it’s completely wasted because of poor conditions. The layout is fun, unique, and challenging— it challenges even skilled golfers because requires smart course management and precise tee shots & approach shots. Unfortunately the unkept tee boxes and poorly maintained greens ruin what could/should be a top notch course. Each tee box you will either be teeing off out of grass that’s as thick as rough OR off of a dirt patch. The greens were slow, but nothing rolls pure so putting is a total crapshoot. It’s a shame because with a little bit more effort to maintain the course, this could be a premier public course. I paid $38 for 18 on a weekday, and I think it’s still overpriced.
Best Fall Ball Course
The weather started out a little chilly, but we layered up, I went with a long sleeve underneath a sherpa quarter zip and by hole 3, the quarter zip was off. This was my second time playing there, and the course was in AMAZING condition, there were hardly any leaves even in the rough so I definitely commend the grounds crew. Grandview is always hard, expect to lose a good number of balls, but it's a challenge and if you can play Grandview, you can play anywhere in my opinion. I am not a great golfer, I've only played on a course about 15ish times, but I have full intentions on making Grandview my "home course." The price is affordable, though I do recommend going at off peak times, as the weekends can be a little more though not unbearable. All in all, a fantastic experience, and I cannot wait for the first chance to get back out there. Grandview is my favorite course in Pittsburgh
