Shamrock still amazing
I had played this course when it was private and expected that the new ownership would ride the superb conditions for a few years and let the place fall apart. I was shocked to see the money they are putting into the place. It's not done yet but you can see the vision and it's pretty cool. Go check it out for yourself but be careful. This course can humble you in a hurry.
Nice Course
Overall, the course is in good shape for this time of year. The greens will only get better.
Great Outing
First time I ever visited this course, I have played courses where I spent double the money and the condition didn`t compare to the Shamrock. I will definitely be returning.
i didn't know heaven was only an hour to my south
I've heard good things about this course for 20 years but never had access. I've played a number of private or once private tracks and often thought nothing special about this place. So I go hear hoping it lives up to my expectations. This place exceeds them.I was like an excited kid at Christmas, couldn't wait to see the next hole.
Conditions were excellent for early spring and it's good to see they are already making improvements to the course. Great value, bring extra balls.

overview
Pros: beautiful clubhouse
Great rate through golf now
Nice hole layout
Several holes with lots of water
Beautiful sand
Cons: course still under construction on hole 10, I believe
Some parts of the cart path are in need of repair
Very few directional signs from hole to hole, making it a bit confusing
Overview:
I'll be back during summer to see how things have changed. Lots of opportunity to lose balls. Great course for the value!
once its done
The course is a beautiful course, challenging yet not to the point of frustrating beginners.
The only complaint was the fact that the course is under construction (change of management), some of the greens need maintenance, and there was no putting surface for the 10th hole (seriously it was a hole cut in a closely mowed rough).
Like my title says, it will be nice when it's all done. Until then it's a good round for anyone who doesn't take golf too seriously.
The public gets a treat!
According to what I was told, this course used to be a country club. This year it opened to the public and that's great for players who wouldn't get the chance to play here. Great layout! Some holes can be difficult w/o knowledge of knowing the course. One of the best I've played so far this season..
very nice
The course was in great condition for this time of the year. Staff was very friendly, and the holes were challenging.
This course is very scenic.
This course is very scenic, with no homes on the fairways. Some interesting holes posed challenge. Many of the holes were straight forward, with no difficulty.
Get in while you can
The course has newly gone public so it is in excellent condition.
I hope they maintain this high level of condition for the bunkers, greens and, well. everything in general. THey are newly training the staff in the club house so that will take some work. Overall a dandy.
