Yes some of the holes have incoming, just look for people blasting off on other tees because there is a good chance that they are going to land in your fairway. Once you play here a few times and know what to look for it becomes a lot less dangerous. I highly recommend riding if one is suffering from constipation, I promise a round here a week will be having you regular like nobodies business. Seriously, if you keep expectations in check you might just be glad you played here. Not for the elites, that course is across the street.

The golf staff was friendly and the pro shop is nice. However, the course needs a lot of work. The tee boxes are a mess; they are rock hard and it’s very difficult to get your tee into the ground. The cart paths are brutal as well, all sand with giant potholes, the bridges are sketchy and look as if they are about to fall apart (multiple bridges have broken wood pieces). The other golfers playing here the day I played we very rude and disrespectful (not everyone was, but the vast majority was). For example, I would tee off, hop into my cart and quickly drive down to my ball location. Then, after quickly grabbing a club and setting up for next shot, I see another ball roll right by me. The majority of golfers here, at least on the day I played, have no sense of etiquette.

As a result, I will never play this course again and do not recommended this course. However, if you enjoy rock hard tee boxes, dangerous cart paths/bridges, and lack of etiquette by other golfers this is the go to course.

If you need some practice, not a bad local course. The tee boxes were bad however. Practically hitting of dirt at times.

Although this is an inexpensive city owned course that we only play when there are no better options, this time I found the greens immaculate. The fringes and aprons had crabgrass, the roughs had large area's of bare spots. The cart paths will jar your teeth loose.

We had a mid morning tee off and finished in under 4.5 hours, in my book that's a tremendous success for 30 bucks. Confirming our reservation was handled efficiently and course conditions were good. Besides a minor disagreement with the ranger [regarding our pace - 10 holes in 2:20... but who's counting, right?], my company and I had a great time playing here. Although Ranger Rick cited a complaint from someone behind us, everyone we encountered was very conscientious and courteous. Far better than any other experience I've had a public course in the Philly area.

The level of experience in our foursome varied a bit, but we all agreed that it was a great course for our intentions. I would recommend this course to those looking for something a bit more challenging than a Par 68/Executive 9. If you're new to the game be forewarned, this course can get a bit tight on a few holes due to the course's crisscrossing fairways. Beginners/Intermediate golfers interested in challenging themselves will surely leave satisfied as the approach shots and greens can be a bit tricky.

First time playing the course and I definitely see myself playing here again.

Tee boxes are horrible. They are mostly uneven, barely manicured and you can't get a tee into the ground without bending or breaking it. Fairways are actually okay. Greens were a tad slow but better than expected. Overall, not impressed. In my opinion, you should pay a few bucks more and go to a golf course that is better maintained.

Haven't played this in over a year. The cart paths are horrible driving behind someone you eat a lot of dust. Bunkers were horrible, had lots of rocks in them and sand if that's what you call it was like concrete. We mentioned it to one of the groundskeepers and he said there's nothing wrong with the bunkers..smh. Greens were good, except they were water logged from it seemed like every hole I front of us had the sprinklers on. Tee boxes need tone better, and as for the money 41 a round with cart is a little steep for conditions. Course should've in better shape!

I would start off by saying that the golf course does need much needed help for the golf cart paths, the tee boxes and the bunkers are the three worst conditions that need the most immediate attention. The staff is very friendly and there was a grounds crew employee who was working there and was doing a remarkable job cutting the ruff areas and did the best he could with the bunkers but they are all almost in much needed sand for them I think the bunkers at holes #5, #8 #13 & #16 have the more manageable bunkers to play out of but they all could use more sand and to have the rocks removed. A employee who use to work there was always trying his best to make the bunkers playable and did a exception job cutting the ruff to be uniformed with the fairways I haven't seen him this year and it really shows in the cut and conditions of the course. I wonder why he didn't return because I miss seeing his work he really took pride in his work and it showed. I would take care of that employee cause he shows and takes pride in his work. Bring him back please..

I had a great time playing at Byrnes! Tee boxes were chewed up badly and there was some flooding on some holes. Overall I had a great time for the value. Staff was great and it was a quiet day, so the pace of play was fast!

At the end of the day, it's a city Public course, you're going to have ups/downs. But Byrnes is a great course to play

Junk course. Tee boxes haven't been cleaned in weeks, hundreds of tees on every box. Fairways were ok. Greens were eh. Only thing marking holes/next hole are big rocks on the ground with the hole number. My tee time was the same as about 70 kids. (Awesome program for the kids but wish I would've known) The staff were nice and friendly but pretty much just wished us good luck. We took it upon ourselves to start on the back 9. Unless there's a hottime for under $10 I wouldn't recommend playing here.
