Great place to play- Photo submitted by goody39420 on 04/18/2013
nice experience
we got to the course early to hit balls and were able to tee of at our scheduled time or earlier.
friendly. staff.
Covid round
Course was in fairly good shape. Greens quick. Don’t be above the hole. Traps still unplayable but could be easily prepped for play. This course is all about ball position on the green.
Fun, Enjoyable, Challenging, Narrow Greens
Auburn Valley Golf Club is a fun, enjoyable, challenging golf course with extremely narrow greens. At many greens it could be only 20 feet across, leaving a very small target. Unfortunately, a lot of ball marks on many of the greens because members and guest golfers are not repairing ball marks. Also, due to a lack of aerating the greens, and not using sand when aerating, these bent grass greens are very susceptable to ball marks, and the tough soil makes it more difficult to fix the ball marks on the greens.
Auburn Valley
The course is very beautiful and challenging but it is very wet, even in May. There was standing water on some of the tee boxes and casual water around many greens.
Civic golf
Excellent condition and layout, a lot of action on the greens. Great old course
Up for a challenge!!
This course is a great test of your golfing abilities. You definitely will use all the clubs in your bag and the greens are tricky.
Outstanding layout; fun & challenging
This was my first time playing golf at Auburn Valley. I was thoroughly impressed with the course layout; challenging yet fair. I would return and play this again in a heartbeat. Beautiful course.
Grass too long and uneven tee area
Great nature views and setup. Grass is too long in fairway rough and around greens. Once your ball is not on fairway, you will hit the ball in heavy grass.
Greens are a little tricky but felt need to be ironed. The condition of some tee boxes areas need to improve. Foe example, on Hole 14, Chestnut tee - a small temporary-like tee and uneven tee box.
I almost could not find a spot to tee off and keep good balance.
They did a great job of social distancing and clean carts. Would golf there agsin
Greens are hard, rough is hazardous
This is my first time playing here. The course is absolutely gorgeous as far as layout and esthetics. However, if you don't keep it in the fairway, the rough has not been mowed and it is very difficult to find your ball. There are a lot of blind shots, so my partner lost balls that never should have been lost just because he went in the rough. The greens do not hold. You can hit 20 feet short of the pin and it still rolls off the green. We played in mid April...so I would hate to see how they are in the summer with no rain at all. I will give them credit....the hotdogs after we finished were fantastic and just being able to sit outside during this pandemic and enjoy the outdoors having a beer and meal after the round was fabulous! I will go back...just please mow the rough!
Traditional course - postage stamp greens!
Great hidden gem, built in 1960 so has traditional design w/ very small greens. Stay below the hole and out of the rough...rough is quite thick and unpredictable. All about course management, very challenging course as there are no flat lies. Highly recommended. Great job to the greens keepers, excellent greens, tough to read.
Great Course
The Auburn Valley Course was great will definitely do it .
Thanks
Awesome
I’m a nurse and getting outside is a must because Covid19 is either keeping us in our homes or for me in the hospital caring for patients. So being able to get out and golf and practice social distance is so easy playing golf!!! Love love loved it!!
Great outdoor location
To whom this may concern,
This course is great with awesome amenities.
Golf where they are open.
Pandemic golf. Good course still open. Little wet but it’s March. Stacked so pace of play slow but we are playing. Not locked down staring at the walls.
Will be back. Thanks for being open.
