The Inn At Pocono Manor - East Course
About
The Inn at Pocono Manor offers two championship golf courses, conveniently located less than two hours from New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. Surrounded by the beauty of the Poconos, the inn has earned a spot on the National Registry of Historic Places. George Fazio designed the West Course, and the East Course was Donald Ross' creation. The East Course, the original layout, has hosted a number of legendary players, including Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead, since 1912. Ross carefully sculpted the mountainous landscape to create a course that is both challenging and memorable. It is shorter and tighter than the other course but they are equal in level of difficulty. The golf course is defined by the interesting water hazards that come into play on several holes, but the scenic views are also a draw.

course was good..
had to wait on servral holes. the course was busy. a little lightening at the end, but we finished
New season
Course was in OK condition, given we are very early in the NEPA season, Tee boxes and fairways were pretty good. Greens were fast but a bit mushy. Staff, as usual, were very pleasant and helpful.
Spring golf
It’s early April and we’re playing golf and it’s 70°. It really doesn’t get much better than that in the Poconos. The course considering we had snow week ago and rain seems like forever in the Poconos is in terrific shape. We played on a Tuesday the car was out, it was a great day to play golf.
Awful pace of play
Have played this course multiple times, each time has taken 5.5 hours. No marshals to enforce pace of play or letting people play through. Once was stuck behind a group giving each other lessons as I’m waiting on the tee box. Greens are in decent shape. Tee boxes and fairways in good shape. Course would be 10x better if they actually enforced pace.
Overall in good shape. Only issue is greens were hard and fast, and approach shots were bouncing off. Great staff at a well run course.
Worth the trip
My husband and I LOVE this course. Very well cared for and the scenery is beautiful.. Sometimes the cart path is a little bumpy, but other than that we continue coming back.
Fairways
Fairways are much too firm. Grass is cut incredibly short. The greens are in reasonably good condition except for the group in front of us that wasn’t repairing ball marks.
The view
Fun day. Enjoy playing here. Only thing is cart paths are rough at times.
Crazy fast greens
They keep the course in mostly good shape, there are a few spots that are dried out, but the rough was fair and, considering the rain the day prior, their drainage is excellent.
The greens are unfairly fast. That’s the drawback. I’m telling you, majors championship fast greens.
First time at this course
We enjoyed our round, the views were stunning staff friendly and helpful. As we only wanted to play nine holes, we found the course not conducive to playing nine holes though. We had to backtrack quite a bit to get back to the clubhouse.
One of a kind
Fun course with a unique layout. Definitely ask the starter for the pro cheat sheet which officers advise for each hole as there los of blind shots and elevation changes. Overall fun course to play!
Incredible course - even in the rain!
This is one of our most favorite courses that we have played! - Beautiful - challenging enough - and had a super friendly staff! Even though our round was cut short by a torrential downpour - it was still GREAT! The staff gave us a rain check so that we could finish the last nine the next day!
