Etowah Golf
Cartpaths disintegrating, bunkers unplayable, some fairways and tee boxes very wet, greens in good shape. Very slow pace, close to give hours.
Great course but no hospitality
Course and play was great but i guess for some reason they closed the food area for the week for Christmas week?maybe(i understand i am off myself for christmas) but we purposely skipped getting food on the way there because online it said the food area was open. All and all it was no big deal but we did atleast hope to get a sandwich or something on the turn.
Friendly staff, awesome carts, great layout
Greeted by the guy in pro shop talked for 15 minutes very friendly guy, very cool carts, course was very wet but still in great condition when I went
Great course, 90% of the time it's cart parth only unfortunately.
Not Worth even the hot deals
This is the 2nd time I've played the course in the last two months, and granted it's "winter" time here in NC. That said, both times I've played the course it has been in MISERABLE condition considering they have another 9 holes that they have been "tuning up" for the last 2 months. Both times I had played I might as well have been playing mud golf. The fairways seem to have little drainage whatsoever, and it looked like the rough hadn't been cut in weeks. I legitimately lost a ball today in the "bunkers", which are really just small ponds, because they hadn't been drained or taken care of at all.
The worst part? It hadn't heavily rained for at least a week before I got on the course either time.
The Driving Range is neglected HEAVILY. It's been mat only since ~June and there has been zero effort to repair the grass boxes in front of the mats. Not to mention there have been multiple times I've gone to hit balls on a PERFECT day and the range would be CLOSED unexplainably.
Spend the extra $5-10 per round to play Cummings Cove instead if you're in the area; BY FAR a much better course that is EXTREMELY well taken care of.
