Northampton Valley Country Club
About
Northampton Valley Country Club, proudly owned by Northampton Township, the golf course first opened in 1963. It is well known among locals as one of the Greater Philadelphia area's best courses. The layout has a classic design with tree-lined fairways and gently sloped greens. Several strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and there are a few water hazards that come into play as well. The par-70 golf course is a manageable 6,400 yards from the back tees. It's a traditional design that is player friendly enough for all skill levels but there are risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to low handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Northampton Valley has a driving range with new range balls which is open to the public and a 10,000 sq. ft. practice green with a pristine sand trap for patrons to work on their short game.

Not allowed to finish round
I had a 12:40 tee time. in my experience, with normal pace of play, a round should take about 4 hours. So my round should have lasted until around 4:40. At about 4:20, the course ranger came up to my group on the 17th hole and told us we had to leave the course because a league was starting. We made him repeat what he said and asked why we couldn't finish our round. He said we could have 5 minutes to complete our round and then we had to leave the course. I don't know many foursomes who could complete 2 holes in 5 minutes, so we left. I won't be returning to play this course again!
Beautiful Weather
Course in the process of aerating so some holes were a challenge. The starter told us of the maintenance being done throughout the day, so we were aware of the situation. The weather was perfect, sunny and a slight wind. Can't comment of course conditions since maintenance was ongoing. Although there were a lot of trees that were cut down and changed the scenery on some of the holes.
Another good day
Coming out of a mild winter course was in good shape. Greens had been aerated so yes there was a little bouncing going on when putting. That will get better with warmer weather. Paired with a threesome, had a good time and only about a 3 hour round.
Not best day for the course
Could only play the front 9 back 9 were being airrated, played front 9 twice. Greens had sand on them. need to play again when course is in better shape.
Good Round
Paired up with another single and a twosome. Went off a few minutes early and finished under 4 hours. Cart path only and we still finished pretty quick.
Rainy day in winter
This was even a fun time and well maintained after a rain storm. Cold day but great play.
Wow!
Course was very fun to play.
greens in excellent condition.
You need to drive the ball straight, but if you miss, you will find your ball. might be penalizing, but easy to play.
lots of strategically placed hazards and green features for any level golfer. something for every golfer.
Positive experience
Has the typical challenges for a public golf course. Water, hills, angles off the tee box, and bunkers give the golfer something to think about.
