First round of the year
First off let’s note that the area has been under attack with snow for the past 3 weeks. All in all this course was in great shape. Clean and able to drive on the fairways on all but 4 holes. The traps were in rough shape, but I attribute that to weather. Greens were surprisingly fast but fair. You really don’t socialize with the staff at this course. I’ve been there 4 times and have only talked to the gentleman who takes my payment. No starters, no Marshall’s and no drink carts. None of that bothers me, in fact I’d rather go play a round like that. The pace of play was very good, although not a lot of people on the course. There was s a back to back par 3 stretch on 11 & 12 which I can see getting backed up, but not on this round. To sum up, short course, enjoyable and has been an in good shape every time I’ve played. The Hotdeals will keep me coming back.
Don’t let me book 18 if you’ll make me pay for 9
I have always loved Spring Hollow but this past Sunday really was a bummer. Had booked a tee time with family I had been looking forward to for a while and when we got to the course, we were told our 18 hole reservations had been changed to 9. We had allotted time to spend together and spring hollow allowed us to book a tee time that wasn’t actually valid. It was extremely upsetting and we were given no other option. Probably the last time I come back now, used to love this place.
Winter fun
Course was in great condition even after a cold rainy winter day prior to my round. Well kept!
Playing in November
Played on a chilly,, sunny, windy Tuesday, and it was great. To be playing golf in November is a treat. Course is in good shape for the time of year. Greens are just a bit shaggy to protect them, but nice. Pace of play of just over 3 hours is delightful. Really good pub for after the round with nice people everywhere.
Ranger needed
All of the afternoon groups had to wait for carts to come off 18, get cleaned and then turned over to the groups waiting.
Like most courses, no ranger or a ranger that doesnn’t do anything when there are groups keeping play slow. Many newbies don’t know about ready golf and hownto avoid open holes. If there is an open hole, tell those groups to skip forward and close the gap. It effects the whole day.
All these courses need to get it together.
Aerated, partially closed, full price
Really disappointing. Course was being aerated. Back nine closed. Played front twice. Full price. No notice. Completely disrespectful.
Challenging Course
Lots of elevation changes and fast greens make a challenging round for most
Nice Course
Other than the morning fog the course was excellent.
Decent course
Greens were in good shape, rough areas were dry, lot of hard pan. Tee boxes were dry and hard enough to break tees! Sand in the bunkers very rocky. (To be fair, we haven’t had much rain lately). Course was fun enough, not too expensive. Would play it again.
OK
The greens were in good shape, the fairways were in certain places rough and dry,. Teeboxes were super dry, hard to put your tee in. It was not worth the $72 that I paid maybe more like$50.
Overall a nice course. Some of the tee boxes looked rough. Fairways were good. Greens were fast and true but hard to get a ball to stay on chips. Staff was friendly. No cart girl on a semi hot day. The only downfall is see was those carts. The brakes didn’t work on the one I was driving. The other cart was the same way. When you thought it was in park the thing would roll. I got out and it rolled all the way into the woods. Very unsafe if someone was getting or putting there clubs away.
