Oakbrook Golf Course
About
Oakbrook Golf Course in Stoystown is one of the area's most popular courses. Not only is it a great value, the course is a challenging round, even for low handicappers. The golf course is tight with many narrow doglegs. It's a seemingly short layout at 6,115 yards from the back tees but there are still holes that long hitters will enjoy. The front nine is more open while the back nine gets tighter. Strategically placed bunkers border the small greens. Although the terrain is mostly flat, there are some surprising breaks in some of the greens. The layout has a mix of short and long par 3s and the par 5 holes are especially tricky. There is a bit of rough and some water coming into play but it's nothing overly difficult.

Bring your "A" game
Great layout that challenges your length and shot making skills. Some wide open holes are not as wide open as they look from the tee. Two long narrow par 5's and the par 3 18th is a bear. If you like to challenge your game this course is a must play.
This course has nice fairways and greens
I played a round of golf of 18 holes with my grandson and I enjoyed it very much, nice weather and course was in nice shape, some repair going on
but that is to be expected. Recommend the course
Wonderful Course
First round out after my first born, so I was expecting to be a tad rusty. Course was in excellent condition, and easy enough to read. Love the Par 3s over the water (the course boasts two). The round went well for all three of my group.
Terrible
Pace of play terrible. Six groups between holes 10 & 11. 10 min wait on every tee box. Tried to get rain check, got attitude from clubhouse manager. Won't play here again
Slow
Play was very slow. Front nine wasn't bad because groups let us play through. Got to back nine, there was six groups from #10 tee to #11 green. We didn't finish round.
First time at Oak Brook
This was my first time playing at Oak Brook. I was thoroughly impressed. The fairways were wide and the greens were big. The course was pretty easy to get around and in pretty good condition. It was a little dry and hard in some spots, as there hasn't been much rain lately, but it was still in very good condition.
I would definitely recommend playing this course.
Solid experience
I have played this course frequently in the past but this is the first time in a couple years. Course was crowded and the pace was slow. Foursome two groups in front of us asked the twosome directly in front of us to play through but they did not. We skipped a hole to get in front of them and then had smooth sailing for the remaining 13 holes. Course condition was solid. With some minor improvements this course would be excellent.
Nice scenic views.
This was our first time playing Oakbrook. The course is in great shape. Greens the way I like them, medium. Staff was very friendly. We look forward to playing Oakbrook again.
great greens and well maintained
played twice this year. first time in the summer. course was beautiful. super greens, rolled true and smooth. wellmaintained fairways and the rough maintained also. quick round. slower in november. way to many leaves and three weeks after aeration of greens and still bumpy. all in all, really like the course and layout. will return again.
Beautiful day for golf
Was a beautiful day for golf.. course was super busy which slowed the pace. Some areas heavily covered with leaves. Overall Great day!!
Great course for the money!
I play this course on a regular basis. The staff is always super friendly and the course is very well maintained. While it provides some challenges for the intermediate golfer, it is open enough to make it a little easier to find those occasional wayward balls.
disapointing
Long drive to play a new course, then had to wait 40 minutes with an open tee while walk-ons showed up and were let out. Staff refered to us as Golf Now people and we would wait for our assigned tee time. One trip only.
Oakbrook has lots of character.
Oakbrook provided a good challenge, and with a good strategy, the course will reward you with a few birdies. The staff is very friendly and the course was well maintained.
Good for the Golf Now price
Oakbrook is a relatively short, wide open, easy course that is a lot of fun to play. Not many holes are challenging or too long for the high handicapper like myself. A good course to build confidence. The course played for $20 with the golf now price which is probably what the regular price should be for the conditions and layout of the course. Probably wouldn't play the course at regular price but for $20 it was well worth it.
Course was in geat shape.
The staff was very friendly. The greens were alittle slow because of the rain we had the day before Overall we had great outing.
Course was in great shape.
The coure has some challanging holes. We move along well. The greens were in super shape. I would recommend to my friends and I got a great deal thru "Golfnow, com".
A great value!!!
I had the pleasure of playing Oakbrook for the first times on June 30 and July 2. Despite the recent heavy rains, the course was in good condition on Sunday, and excellent condition Tuesday. The pro, Tim, couldn't have been more friendly! The course, while not overly difficult, presents a challenge for all but the most accomplished golfers from the blue tees. My son has recently moved to Johnstown, and this will be the course of choice for him and his wife. Probably the best value for the money (along with Brora) I have EVER enjoyed!
Fairly straight-forward, easy to play course.
A great course for the beginner. Most holes are pretty easy to play with generous fairways and greens. However, it still presents a little challenge for the better players on some holes.
This course is in excellent condition.
This course is very well maintained with smooth and fast greens.I would recommend it to anyone.
