Great for a fun time.
This course isn’t bad if you’re going out to have a good time with friends or family just to have a good time.
Never Disappoints
Great place to play golf. Many scoreable par 4s. Greens were in great shape. Tee boxes were in pretty good shape. Very few wet spots after solid day of rain the day before. Cart paths definitely need work.
Well Rounded
Last time a played here. There were some reno's happening. So I didn't judge to harshly. This go round was almost perfect. The course was in great shape. Pace was good. I even had a group offer me to play thru. And that's almost nonexistent anymore. Staff was awesome. Golf cart was old and seen better days. But if that'd my only gripe! We're ok! Its worth the trip out there from Tahn.
Just Ok
Always Nice greens. Fairways good if there's been enough rain. Sand traps and cart paths need lots of attention. Mostly good holes except a couple on back nine
Good local public course
We were the first group out...could not have gone better.course in good shape despite all the rain
Better than before
I reviewed this course last year and gave it 3 stars, due to apparent lack of care. At a friend's request, I tried again this spring and was more impressed this time around. The course was much more green, and less brown. Fairways and tees boxes were lush and nice, and greens were surprisingly fast and true.
Prices are still very fair for a public course, and the buildings are nothing special, but nice nonetheless. I still don't like the layout of the back nine, which includes several dumb homes that could maybe be redesigned in the future, but the front nine has some good holes. My last review stated that I wouldn't come back unless improvements were made, and I must admit that I can see improvement enough that I woukd like to play it again later this summer.
Could have been better
Duck Hollow is a hilly course settled back in the woods near Uniontown. While it has a few nicely designed holes on the front nine, the back nine is just plain strange. A 575+ yard par-5, a par 4 across a small canyon, and several very tight holes line the back nine, making it rather difficult to score well and feel good about your round. The staff was helpful and the cost was cheap, but the course was rock hard and I couldn't keep a drive on the fairway because a lot of the holes are tilted. If the course was wet and better maintained, it would be more enjoyable. I won't come back here unless improvements are made.
Good time out
course ranger was very nice. We moved quickly through the front 9, slowed down a little on the back. A couple of course members skipped holes and caught up to us and got a little pushy on the last several holes. Got to talk to them on 15.. they realized several groups were ahead of us, and they apologized and we finished at a good pace.
Course in bad shape
Course isn’t maintained. Cart paths are terrible. Staff couldn’t find our reservation on system and tried to make us pay twice.
The worst of the worst...
Having played this Course for the past 15 years, I was shocked to see how Duck Hollow has slipped into total disrepair. From the Tee Boxes that are dug up with little grass, to the Fairways that are barren and scorched, to the Greens that are covered with ball marks, this Course has been allowed to go into disrepair.
Whether this has something to do with the new residential construction that’s sprouted up this year as you enter the property and the owners seeing big dollar signs with additional house lots where golf carts once roamed, it’s anybody’s guess. What I do know is that it’s a sin to let this once-fun course to fail...and to charge $29 on top of it!!!
