Tight, tight, tight

If you can hit fairways here, you can hit them anywhere. It may be the tightest course I've ever played and certainly is the tightest course in Orlando. Without question. So be prepared.

But the variety is great, the greens were terrific and I loved the variety of the par 3s. My son and I played on a busy day and we thought the pace would be slow, but the members do not mess around. We moved around quickly and had a good day.

The last three holes are super difficult. So if you need a good score to close out a round, good luck. Water comes into play on all three of them.

Have played here several times and it is one of the more challenging courses in Orlando. Very tight off the tee. I did not hit driver one time and scored much better using 3-wood. Course was in great shape and played firm despite a lot of summer rain.

Need to Find the Fairway....

This is my second time playing Orange Tree, and the more I play the course the better I tend to play. This course is extremely difficult from the tee - you must find the fairway or you'll be hitting 3 from the tee frequently. Houses creep in and you can find yourself in some tough positions.

The greens are always perfect here - rolling 10-11. They have some significant slope, so make sure you play your approach to the correct spot on the green.

The clubhouse is under construction, revamping the grill so there is a lot of construction going on.

I'm sure I'll be back!

The Tree is a very stern test of golf. It is a course that is always in great shape. Their greens are usually rolling FAST. Nice practice facility to sharpen all facets of your game. If afforded the opportunity, play at The Tree. Make sure to bring some extra balls as their is OB on both side of nearly every hole. Bring your patience.

Well know local track, need your best from the tee box

Played "The Tree" again yesterday and my long game was a far cry from what I had the last time I played.

Orange Tree provides a stern test from start to finish off the tee. The course, as I am finding out, was still in very good shape after another relentless Orlando summer. Greens are always pure. For what I considered a fairly short course, we moved back to the blue tees for this round and it was plenty of golf course given the tight piece of property.

I left the course a bit dejected because of my tee ball game, but it was a great day with good friends. I just realized that The Tree exposed my erratic driving and I need to grind to develop a fairway finder club and swing.

First time at a well know local track

Had the chance to Orange Tree yesterday with a member. I've always heard good things about "The Tree", like the conditions were great and the greens were super fast. The thing that always made me nervous was I heard the course was SUPER TIGHT and that didn't really suit my game.

I'm happy to say that while the course is narrow due to the fact that it runs through a housing development, I didn't find it unplayable. I've played much tighter courses and felt comfortable pulling driver out driver out on a number of holes.

I will say that there are some cases where you need to be in the correct side of the fairway to have a good look at the greens (due to over-hanging trees). Once us on the dance floor, the greens were medium-sized, undulating and very smooth and quick.

Word is many pro golfers (men and women) play out at Orange Tree and when in town for tournaments like the API, they will go over and practice there because it demands solid ball striking and good putting.

Had fun and look forward to the next round.

challenging, private Orlando golf club

Orange Tree is a true test for any player. Multiple tee boxes (4,300 - 6,900 yards), not much room outside the fairly generous fairways, fantastic greens and three, great, but unforgiving finishing holes. Staff is a very friendly. Greenside bunker renovation project recently completed. Nice practice area and range. If invited to play, don't pass it up.

Demanding test of your complete game

It is no wonder why professional golfers of all stripes - PGA Tour, Web.com, Champions, LPGA Tour - seem to gravitate toward Orange Tree when they're in Orlando. If you can play well - especially tee to green - there, you should be ready for most any other test of golf. On the day I played, a number of LPGA Tour players were getting some practice in.

Orange Tree is one of the narrowest courses you'll find off the tee, with many holes playing longer than the yardage because they cause the cautious player to lay back off the tee for position's sake, lest one's ball fly beyond the OB stakes that line both sides of many holes. But if you can tack your way around well enough, there are birdie opportunities to be had, mostly owing to the pure, fast greens. Just make sure you're below the hole! The par 3s* are a main strength of the course, design-wise.

*I swear I'm not just saying this because I made a hole-in-one on the par-3 5th hole, but it doesn't hurt!

Truly A Great Experience

From the moment I walked into the clubhouse, the experience was top notch. The practice facility was in great shape and the greens were rolling quite nicely. The greens had some subtleties that would take a few rounds to get used to. Make sure you are on the right side of the hole. Also look at your putts from every side! The course conditions were second to none. The closing stretch of the "loop" was incredible. Make sure to bring your "A" game as the course is challenging, but it is very fair. If you course manage your way around, you can have a great day. The staff was great from the moment I walked into the shop, to meeting the head pro, to having brunch inside. A very memorable round and I look forward to going back and playing any chance I get. Highly recommend playing here if given the chance.

Fast and Undulated Greens

Played Orange Tree for an FSGA event. This course is extremely tight with out of bounds coming into play on all 18 holes. Most holes there is maybe 5-10 yards of rough and then out of bounds because of the homes along it. The greens were very quick, some of the quickest i have played in Florida, and rolled really well. It begins with two par 5's which is interesting from a routing standpoint.

Tight, but worth the challenge

Orange Tree is one of the best courses in the Orlando area. It's very narrow, but the course is in fantastic shape and the greens are phenomenal. The staff is excellent, and it makes for a great day of golf.

Tough but nice golf course

You may find this layout tight off the tees since a lot of property lines come close to course and a lot of out of bounds stakes in play. If you are a straight hitter then you can play well here.. Last 3 holes are good, challenging holes. Conditions are very good with some of the best greens in Orlando. The practice facilities leave a little to be desired but if you have a chance to play Orange Tree I would recommend it.

Orange Tree

This is one of the most challenging courses and best kept secrets in the state of Florida. Orange Tree is often overshadowed by its more notable neighbor Bay Hill, but is every bit the golf course Bay Hill is and in better condition. The Orange Tree greens were recently renovated and putt as well as any Bermuda grass surfaces in the state. If you need proof of an excellent golf course, ask the many PGA Tour, web.com Tour and LPGA Tour players who call Orange Tree home.

A True Test of Golf!

Orange tree is not ideal for beginning golfers. While there are multiple sets of tees, Orange Tree is extremely narrow with beautiful Champion Bermuda greens. This course will test all areas of your game and reward good play. Definitely recommend this course if you can get out there while in Orlando. The staff is really friendly and the pace of play is always great.

Best Kept Secret in Central Florida

Orange Tree is a diamond in the rough. Owned and operated by the Wisney's (sp) of Detriot, MI. These owners really know how to set up and maintain a golfing facility. They staff their facility with the finest personnel and cater to the needs of the course/people. Orange Tree is also one of the most challenging courses in the area. PGA pro's such as Tiger Woods, Bubba Watson, and many more find themselves preparing for majors at Orange Tree due to the narrow fairways and challenging layout. If you have the opportunity to play I would highly recommend it. Make sure you bring a few extra Titleist's.... You'll probably need them during the stretch from 1-18.
