Greens need more grass & less mud.
The ridge is a challenging yet fun course. Fairways are in good condition and greens are fast. However some greens are kind of bare with more mud showing than grass. they should add more seeds next time they aerate the greens.

Fast greens
Great layout with few water hazard and challenging undulating greens that are quick

Slow because a five player group in front.
Would easily have given four stars but super slow play ahead of us with a five player group. Otherwise highly recommend.

Good day at the Ridge
Good fall weather with a slight sun shower for a few minutes. Play was light and pace was good. Greens not 100% recovered but putts rolled pure. Cart path only on every hole was a little inconvenient, I think the conditions would have allowed some cart access in the fairways but better safe than sorry I guess. I almost always enjoy my rounds at The Ridge and this one was no different.
I do have one negative comment; The
Ridge could do a better job starting a monitoring groups on the course. Call ups, if any, are not heard on the range and groups on the first tee are often left sorting it out on their own.

Expected better for the price
Charged full price for punched greens and cart path only as it rained the night before. Expected a better rate for greens condition. Otherwise a nice course with tricky layout

Nice layout, greens still recovering
My first time playing at The Ridge. I really liked the layout and overall the course was in good condition. However the greens are still recovering from being punched and it was really difficult to score. After the round, nobody in my threesome recalled anyone making anything more than a 3 footer! I get it, greens need this treatment, but I don’t think I should pay full price when I don’t have full use of the golf course.

Currently aerating
Have been interested in playing this course for some time. Booked tee time 5 days in advance and drove 2 hours to play only to learn at check in that front nine was closed for aerating so played back nine twice. Would have been nice to know before I made the drive.
Nice course but limited number of holes made pace of play extremely slow.

Punched Out
The front nine was closed for punching greens. So I played back nine. Carts were cart path only. Ok, I need the exercise. The course is difficult for a high handicap golfer. I was pretty dejected after triple bogey most holes. Decided not to play back nine again. Went to range to practice. Had I known the front nine was closed I would not have made the tee time. This is not the first time arrive to course and find the greens recently punched. In summary beautiful day and course. Off course amenities look great. My tee cost was still cheaper than if I had gone through course. They were charging $45 and that was $10 discount.
I will try it again.

Slow play, soggy fairways and over priced
Young Men in pro shop barely payed attention to check me in. Never saw a Marshall and play was very slow. Course is over watered and over priced

Double booked and didn’t receive refund
Beyond frustrated with The Ridge. I booked and paid in advance for a morning tee time. I received an email the day before my tee time and said they double booked by accident. The course didn’t offer up another tee time and didn’t issue a refund. I did like this course but this is bad way to do business.

Oversold Tee Times:
The course was exceptional with rolling hills, great scenery and challenging greens.
But the deal breaker was that the golf course management oversold tee times, slowing up course movement to a standstill at times, with 10 minute waits on almost every hole. A regular player there said this was common as the " course was so popular."
Well, I'll tell you long wait times make for a bad experience and unpopular course -- especially when you pay premium money and don't even get to finish your round. We started at 2:20 and left at 6:50 after only finishing hole 15. There was barely a hal-hour of sunlight left as movement at the end got especially backed up.
In addition, there were no course monitors pushing play along or encouraging slow players to speed up their rounds. For these reasons, I won't be back.

Great course, good price, super busy
Ya, sure The Ridge is busy. But, that's because it's a FUN COURSE, for a FAIR PRICE. The Ridge absorbed, all of the rounds that used to get played, at Auburn Valley. I would rather play the Ridge 3-4 rounds. Then play Winchester 1 time. The Ridge is in better shape than Winchester.
