Bad Conditions
The course is in terrible shape. I’m not sure where the other good reviews are coming from unless they’re fraudulent but the course is in lousy shape. The tee boxes are torn up (one par 3 box was mostly just dirt and rock), the fairways are burned out and the rough looks more like field grass than anything you would normally see on a golf course. The greens were in fairly good shape but very slow. The pro shop crew didn’t seem to know what was going on (they couldn’t tell what other twosome we were to join and just said go get in line. I suspect it is these issues and conditions that are the reasons why the course is selling tee times for $23 on a Sunday. Also, very disappointed that other reviews were obviously misleading as I relied upon those to play the course. The course hasn’t been good for a number of years and I have resisted playing it since early last year. I would not have gone back except for the recent “good” reviews, assuming that since we had a fairly wet spring maybe the course had improved. I’m not sure how these reviews are “verified” since they aren’t accurate. There is significant commercial development around the course in recent years and you get the feeling that the owners are just biding their time until a developer approaches.
A nice course that lacks extra facilities
A nice course with a solid mix or narrow and open holes, the only issue is a lack of off course amenities, no driving range with a decent practice green is the only downside.
Last round of 2023
Went to play on a nice (for December) day to get out of the house. Course conditions were good, greens had been aerated and sanded so putting was sketchy. Rest of the course was fine. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait to play there next year.
Fun round
I had a fun day on this course. I played with a long time member which was great because I never played this course. Short course but sometimes I need that. Would definitely recommend it to my friends.
A local gem
Always friendly staff, well-maintained course, good value for 18 holes (9 holes a little pricey by comparison).
Great course for the money!!
Sheppards hill is a very manageable course to score on. It’s not too tough for average or beginner golfers. That’s why I like it!. The course layout is good minus the houses everywhere. The staff is friendly every time I go so that’s a plus. The pace is play is one of the best around in my opinion and I have played a fair share of courses around the area. To me it’s a must play for the price and easy to score on!. Honest review!.
Kirkie
This course is one of the best in southeast PA. Country club quality at public course prices.
Great course!
Course is excellently kept. A little tight but okay for my slice! Friendly staff who go above and beyond.
Tight but fun course
Course was nice fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. The greens were super soft and needed to be cut but other then that the course is awesome
