Very nice course and employees
Very nice golf course. Has some challenging holes that are fun to play. The greens are nice, but could be a little faster. Food , drinks, and employees are great! i will definitely return to Cherry Creek.
Tough on Distances
Played with a good buddy of mine and was both our first times playing the course. The deception of the yardages was so overwhelming for us that we played the first hole from white but then moved back to blue tees for the final 17 holes because we went long on too many shots. We both loved the conditions of the course (besides the rough, which felt like US Open rough it was sooooo high!) and found it a challenging but enjoyable course to play but we both wish that they gave you a yardage book or something to help newcomers or just the average golfer know shot distances. Also the course is very narrow on a few holes and it is tough to see where your tee shot/2nd shot/etc. lands. Lost a lot of ProV1s that day haha.
Course is in great shape!
Cherry Creek is a excellent public golf course. The course is in great shape for July. The only tee box that was really in need of some work was #18. The rest course is looking good and it's a fun course to play that will force you to use all your clubs. The staff is excellent every time I visit the course and the 19th hole is great for food & drinks.
cherry creek
first 8 holes very enjoyable as pace of play was good, next 10 hole VERY slow due to a group of at least 12 teens playing a match and walking. twosome in front of us had been there 6 hrs to get to 16. ranger was not to be found. will play there again as the course was in nice shape.
A well manicured course.
A very challenging course. This has been the best manicured course I have played so far this year. From fairways to greens including the tee box were cut so perfect that was as equal as a country club. The only problem was trying to locate the tees ,somewhat confusing.
Beautiful course
This is easily the nicest course I have ever played on. The sights from the hilly landscape was beautiful. The course provided a nice mixture of types of holes (long, short). I would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for a great afternoon.
Review
Course lay out is confusing for your first time. Must pay attention to the signs guiding you to the next hole. The lay out takes you past other tee boxes and you run up on them and can disturb golfers teeing off. Overall, not a bad course.
sweet course
Very nice course. Only par 70 but I still shot in the low 90's. Many obstacles (water, wetlands, marsh) and quite a few bunkers. Tight layout but well marked by signage to help you along. My GPS did not match yardage on scorecard. Scorecard distances seem long. Soft and beautiful greens, very nice tees and fairways. Slow because we were behind 4 old timers who could barely walk. Long distance between tees so walking would be tough.
fun course to play
not long course but challenging nice friendly staff been there twice this year will definetly go back a couple more times
Cherry Creek
A fun course to play, was in excellent condition. We will be going back.
Perfect!
A beautiful, well kept, and challenging course. The food at their restaurant was delicious as well. I will come back many many times.
Fairways and greens were in great shape
The course was in good condition except for the roughs. they were so long we lost about 10 balls.
What a gem!
Played on a whim and could not have been more impressed. Course is in immaculate shape all around. Interesting layout with many decisions to be made. The range of Par 3's was ideal- steep downhill, downhill, flat, and uphill. The Par 5's are tough with layups prudent/necessary. The Par 4 16th is in the running for prettiest hole in the Pittsburgh area, and it has no shortage of companions for scenery. Fall colors right now are spectacular. Will definitely be coming back!
Beautiful natural setting.
I very much enjoyed playing Cherry Creek. The course is well maintained and quite scenic. As an older player, I appreciated being able to approach/reach most greens in regulation from the white tees. The hazards (rough, traps, water) were significant but not unfair. The fairways were excellent, as were the greens, which are on the smaller size. The course layout was confusing at times, even with the signage; twice I made a wrong turn to the next tee. Once I thought I had played a hole out of order, then realized i had not. The scorecard does not have a map, only likenesses of the holes; a map would be much appreciated. I enjoyed playing Cherry Creek and will definitely play it again.
Good for the price, short overall
I got my second Hole in One on No 3, so yes I would go back. Its a nice short course.
good value
I would rate the course as excellent but for the ongoing maint.During our round there were several fairways being aierated. This was not a major problem but did take away a bit from otherwise being a great course.I would also recommend the restaurant.Great food & friendly staff!
Challenging Little Course
This is a short course that requires accuracy. Most fairways are dog legs or extremely narrow with hazards present. It was in great shape yesterday. Didn't grab food, but there's a nice looking restaurant/bar and a pavilion with another full bar and TV's.
It's not a terrible drive from Pittsburgh (~40 min drive), though you should probably take into account the cost of the PA TP tolls of $2.30 to/from Monroeville.
Difficult in spots, but overall a nice experience.
Ok course and Gnow price was right.
Brake on cart didn't work, spent front nine parking on level as would not hold. At turn switched out for another, attendant mostly unconcerned. Greens in very good shape, some tight fairways w/shaggy crabgrass in the rough. Overall a nice round. Pub staff very nice; great hot dogs !
Love this course!
This was first time golfing at Cherry Creek and I loved it! Fairways and greens were in pristine condition. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Beautiful course for a great value! HIGHLY recommend this course to all levels of golfers!
Good course
Good Price for a good course.
Some blind shots I recommend You look before You hit.
Course cart paths cross back and fourth but are well marked.
