Fun course
Very well maintained. Fun course to play. Played in 3hr- 45min. Staff very friendly. A very good place to eat after golf
Good conditions. Tight layout.
Excellent conditions. Interesting layout and topography. Some really tight holes and a little crowded as all 18 holes seem to intertwine. This would be a really tough course to walk, especially the back 9.
second chance pays off
the last time I played Cherry Creek, I didn't think I would return. I am glad I did. The course was in a lot better shape than it was the previous time. We enjoyed our round immensely.
the course was in good shape
overall the course was in good shape. We finished our round in a little under 4 hours.
Very short, but not much room for error
I really enjoyed my time on the course yesterday. We had to cut it short because of downpours and lightning. This course is pretty short (6100) from the tips. But you don't have much room to spray the ball. If you don't hit it straight you will be taking a penalty stroke. Staff was great. The ground didn't take the water too well. A lot of standing water, but you can attribute most of that to the rain we were getting. Cherry Creek has some great deals on groupon during the week, which is why I gave it Average for value for the money.
Great for Beginners
For anyone just starting out like myself, Cheery Creek is a great course to learn on. With holes of varying type and greens that are consistent throughout; the course offers a wide range of practice opportunities. Take advantage of the free chipping and putting surface before and after your rounds for additional practice.
Weather wasn't great
The day was beautiful, sunny, hot and humid. But with rains for during the pervious week made the course a mud bog in many of the fairways. The maintance crews did the best they could, but the rain was just to overwhelming. After some rain free days the course should be excellent.
Course was in very good shape. It is very short but you still have to make golf shots.
We played this course in the afternoon and had no problem with slow play. The course is short so we had to really think about club selection. There has been a lot of rain so there were some real wet spots but it was maintained really well. Greens held approaches well and putting was consistent
This course offers varied types of holes. Uphill, downhill, short holes, long holes, etc. A challenge for the average player.
I like the course because of the variety it offers for the average golfer. Some holes are pretty straight-forward tee to green, but a few others have a little spice added just to keep your interest. I also enjoyed the condition of the course. The greens were in very good shape, although, I found them to be a little unpredictable, speed-wise, which made putting an adventure.
Very nice course
I REALLY liked the course, but it has only one deficit - it needs MORE SAND in each of the sand traps!
great course
The corse was in great shape, the greens were true, and the food as always is very good..tge course isn't long but is challenging with shot placement very important
Bad layout
Course seems as though it was poorly designed. Some holes feel like you in a shooting gallery and chance of getting hit is pretty high. The painting of the greens looked really sloppy and got all over our shoes and hands. Greens were in good shape but I probably would never go back.
Great Course!
This course is part wetlands preserve and the course does a fantastic job of balancing a challenge with the course while maintaining a great view at local habitat for all kinds of life. The tee boxes are well maintained and the greens run true. The holes aren't overly long and some of the par 3's run short, but there is challenge with the slopes and winds that pace through some of the holes. Additionally, the staff is super friendly and they have a great pub that serves great sandwiches and homemade potato chips. Can't beat the value on this golf course!
Putting $$$ into course
Since we first played this course 5 or 6 years ago there have been some modifications. The biggest and best was on hole # 2. The old hole seemed to be an afterthought. There are several bunkers that are being worked on or changed. Right now the are GUR, but should be a big improvement in a few weeks.
It was a nice day and they had several "walk-ons." This led to what was probably the slowest round we've ever played there. But we still got through in about 41/2 hours.
Greens were recently airated. 10th green was under repair.
As noted above the 10th green was not in use and a temporay flag stick was used. This on top of the airation disappointed us in what might have been a nice round of golf.
Pro shop should have stated these items and offered $ discount on a future round.
Resort course feel without the cost
On the day we played conditioning was a little worse than I have experienced here over the years. We've had a tough summer weatherwise, and I'm sure that contributed to the issues with the bunkers and conditionig somewhat. This is a nice course especially when compared to a number of local tracks near it. Cherry Creek staff are always friendly and accomodating. There are losts of interesting holes with greens and fairways that are ussually in very good shape. It has a combination of tighter holes and a few places where you can spray the ball without penalty. Water is placed in some strategic spots as well. I like this course a usually try to play here a few times per year.
