Nice layout
Just enough obstacles to make it interesting bringing risk and reward into play. Island green is fun, unless you deep six one. Starter was great, good guy to have at the start. 4 in our group walking and playing 2 vs 2 best ball, 3 behind us in carts. We asked if they wanted to go through but they did not. We kept up with the 4 in front of us even with their speed on the greens. Great pace! Greens rolled very well. Some down hill putts were tough to judge.
Fun Layout, Decent Value
Cranston CC is a fun course to play. The bad: It’s pricey compared to other public courses around the state with not much justification as the carts are out dated and the practice facilities aren’t that great also has the dreaded no chipping practice on the putting green before the round. Bunkers aren’t kept well and the consistency is cheap fine gravel again for the price you expect more. Pace of play gets pretty slow and the ranger doesn’t really keep up on it well. 9th hole can get pretty sketchy with a driving range adjacent to the hole coming in your direction.
The good: the course is in great shape and it appears the club has added an upgraded Golf Academy practice facility at the range but not sure if this is for general use or for private instruction. You can score pretty well on the layout not too many ways to get yourself in trouble and there are a few great holes good for any skill level player. 8th hole very unique island green, this and all the other par 3s on the course are great.
1) bunkers contain fine gravel not sand. Terrible
2) cart paths are so rutted the tide on them is terrible.
3) “Bar” is horrible. No beer on tap and hots dig was disgusting. Boiled, not grilled and bun wad not a bun. It was bread.
4) hole with island green is ridiculous. Too narrow front to back, must have a perfect shot. Who has those. I was thinking about becoming a member but the info I was given on a sheet of paper only gave costs. It did not mention what you are receiving for the fees.

Staff was great
I accidently booked for the wrong day and they were able to switch me to the same day.
Decent Course with Issues
First time to Cranston and course itself is pretty good in excellent condition. Fairways are wide so plenty of times to use the driver. The 8th hole island green is unique for a public course.
However, the rounds took 5 hr and 15 minutes because no ranger was on course to speed up two foursomes (8 buddies) ahead of my group that were playing best ball on a busy Saturday. The golf carts are very old too and in poor condition.
nice
Greens in outstanding condition roll well, fairways good&free of leaves. Roped off areas leave a lot of walking to get to putting green
Nice day at Cranston C.C.
Joined a father and son for 18 holes on a nice day at C.C.C. Trees have started to get color and provided a nice scenic atmosphere. The course, conditions and layout were outstanding.
Cranston Country Club
First time playing this course and enjoyed the time and staff. Had a beverage cart consistently attending to the golfers all day. Driving range is small, but it does allow you to hit some range balls prior to the round. A very walkable golf course with some slight inclines, but nothing too difficult to manage. Best hole was the par three island green number eight. Five different levels of tee boxes to challenge every skill set. Bunkers were well placed around the greens. to catch the shot error. If you are in the area, please check out Cranston Country Club. Enjoyed the day and staff.
great public course. one of my local favorites
Cranston Country Club never fails to impress.
Always in great condition. From large tees boxes to challenging undulating greens and the fairways and rough are excellent. Arrived for our 12:30 Wednesday tee time at noon and was concerned with the large number of golfers waiting to tee off. Despite a very busy day we teed off on time and finished the round in about 4 hours 30 miniutes. Greens are a bit slow but with all the undulations if they were fast pace of play would suffer.
Nice day at C C Club
Hooked up with 3 nice golfers for 18. Conditions were excellent and course was challenging. Greens very nice. Took a cart and was glad I did esp. for the back nine. Looks like some facility improvements are being done to make it even a better experience. Nice and cold in the bar after a pretty hot day on the course.
Fun, relaxed round of golf
Our foursome enjoyed a fun round of golf. Reservations were fast and easy to make. Pro Shop service was excellent.
