Foster 2021
tee boxes not in very good condition. Fairways average for this time of year. Greens in excellent condition.
Challenging and rewarding course
Nice green easy to hit. Some hidden hazards we didn’t know about our first time but fun.
Have to hold back on some holes
Nice course
Nice 18 hole challenging course. Greens in real good shape for March!!
I play this course often
Staff are friendly.
Practice Green is on a hill.
Tee boxes in good shape.
Course is dry. (2020 drought was tough)
Greens were kept 10/10 quality.
Pace of play....slow!! You better tee off early or just expect to play a long round and don't be upset.
Food is great. Bar staff is great. 10/10.
Definitely a hidden gem. Front 9 is open.. back 9 you have to control your ball.
GET TO FOSTER!!!!
FOSTER CC
VERY CHALLENGING COURSE. TEE BOXES & GREENS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE (IF THE LAZY PLAYERS WOULD TAKE CARE OF THEIR DIVOTS ON THE GREENS). MOST FAIRWAYS WERE QUITE DRY DUE TO LACK OF RAIN IN THE AREA.

I arrived to the pro shop @ 11:35 for a 11:50 tee time. Had to wait until 12:10 before teeing off. Let a 4 some that had a 12:10 tee time tee off before my group ( teamed up with 3 other guys). That was the only hitch however. Only had to wait at a few holes on the back 9 because of a 5 some in front. Many parts were in dire need of water. however, 95% of fairways, 100% of greens & tee boxes were in great shape.
A have to play NE course
Very tough course layout and greens. Just enough challenging to make you come back. Have your mid-range and putting game on point.
Fantastic greens
Played a lot of golf this summer and FCC greens and about 20 yards from the green were not burnt out. One of the best in RI
**UPDATE** - Old Relaible
Brian the Tour Pro called me personally and apologized for the misunderstanding from yesterday. I did not hear the full context of his conversation and wrote my review in haste. (i swear it wasn’t because i played bad haha) As stated already i love this place and will continue to come back.

Got out before the heat
Seemed like everyone had the same idea. It was a bit crowded.
Had to quit after 9
I am not typically a review person but this round warranted one. My only positive experience was that my partner was late 10 minutes and they said “don’t worry we will get you out”. Little did I know what they were setting me up for.
Regardless if we went off at our scheduled time or 10 minutes late we still would’ve wound up in the cluster f we found ourselves in by hole 3. It got some bad that at 9 we were watching the group ahead of us wait to tee off due to the foursome ahead of them (who was waiting on someone else) and we had to groups behind us finish 8 while we waited. We literally had 15 people trying to play the same hole.
At that point we were 2.5 hours into the round with most likely a 3 hour back 9, so we called it a day. I went into the pro shop to ask for a 9 hole voucher but he wouldn’t because we booked through Golfnow. I said “you can’t just write up a manual certificate for a later date to show good customer service” he said no but I will refund the cart fee. The cart fee is a whole other gripe of mine! The round appears very affordable on golf now but when you get there to add your cart (which you can’t do online) they charge each person $24!! When you combine the online rate plus cart fee is becomes a way overpriced course even if pace of play was ok. The course is myself was pretty hard and burnt, very hard to take divots which isn’t really acceptable considering the other local courses do not look like this with all the rain we have got. It was also 90 degrees and humid and after 2.5 hours I finally saw the beverage cart at hole 9 to get a Gatorade and I bought 2 more because it looked like I most likely wouldn’t see her again the rest of the round (had I actually finished).
Overall it was a bad experience but I do understand things happen and under these extraordinary circumstances I have to give people a pass one time. Like I said, other courses aren’t having these issues but I was willing to try again if they were able to give me a voucher. I am a local resident SSB was excited to try my my local course and potentially become a member but sadly I don’t think this is the club for me based on my first experience. I truly hope others have a better experience and I was just caught up on the wrong day.
