Country View Golf Club
About
Country View Golf Club is situated just 20 minutes north of Providence and just south of the Massachusetts state line. Its convenient location in the Blackstone Valley area is easily accessible from several major highways. The course sprawls across rolling terrain with beautiful trees lining the fairways. It's a player-friendly golf course where you won't find many bunkers or water hazards. Accuracy is needed though to navigate past the many trees and the undulating terrain provides a few tricky uneven lies. Country View G.C. finishes with a tough uphill par 4. This intimidating hole has out-of-bounds to the left and trees on the right and the trouble doesn't end there. The second shot climbs uphill further to a narrow, sloping green. You can try to go long but that can make getting up and down nearly impossible, it would be safer to go short and left.

Played Aug 16
Booked through golfnow and had a good morning. 730 tee time with one foursome in front our twosome and they let us through on #3 so we were finished by 11am. Course looks a little better each time we go. Lots of work being done and greens were in good shape.
Back Again!
I started playing County View back in the 1970's when you could play all day for $6.50. Needless to say, even then that was a bargain. Years past and hundreds of rounds of golf later this course still remains fun but also challenging as some of us get just a little older and shorter off the tee. The new management is turning this course into a well maintained golf destination that offers everyone the opportunity for some great golf stories!
Fun round
We are on a road trip playing golf in 8 states in our quest to play all 50 states. So, we were looking for a course that was close to our route. We found this as a Hot Deal on Golfnow and it exceeded our expectations.
The fairways were pretty dry and not all full. But the greens were in good shape. The tees could use some water also.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food at the course was also really good. Their club burger was my favorite.
Overall a good experience to close out our road trip.
The course was in very good condition. The grounds crew continues do an excellent job with the greens. The staff were friendly as usual. We went out before 7am and therefore our threesome completed play in 3hrs (would have been less if not for a slower twosome in front of us). There were a large # of golfers on the first tee when we were leaving (just before 10am) which is normal for this course (and my experience is to expect a 5hr round at this time). The course has been trying to remove some of the hazards to make it an easier course for new / high handicap golfers which will certainly lead to a more pleasant experience for those golfers.
As good a golf value as your will find
It's a fairly short course in much above average condition. The layout is fairly basic with 3 or 4 above average holes. The greens are in surprisingly good shape. The holes had been cut fairly recently. There was plenty of sand in the traps and generally were well raked. This will be one of my favorite courses within 30 miles of Tiverton using GolfNow going forward. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The fairways and roughs are in good shape. I will definitely be back.
the layout is
Great Shape
Had an early morning tee time around 650. The course is in great shape and greens very well kept(most likely from all the rain we've had)! Only down side was the pace of play & lines. We had a slow group in front of us and there was no marshal present to regulate pace of play.
Also no starter at the beginning to control pace of play either.
Other than that, great course. Would highly recommend booking an early tee time for this popular course.
Nice day to play
This not, not will it ever be, my favorite course. I just do not like the layout. That being said,it was a delightful day to play. I got hooked up with three good guys, which made the day that much better. The staff were terrific. As for the course, the greens were slow and many of the tee boxes were in tough shape. There fairways and rough were in good condition.
Beautiful
The ride to the course is invigorating. Then the natural setting is breathtaking. The course is fun and well maintained.
Very slow play
Did not finish round due to foursome ahead that was extremely slow. Waited on every shot. Ranger would be helpful or allowing our twosome through would have been nice.
Oct 12
Very friendly staff. Excellent greens. Fairways spotty because of dry weather I suspect
Enjoy a round of golf on a not too fancy course
Course was in descent shape overall - greens especially were in better than average shape - ball rolled nicely. To the good folks of Country View - Keep up the good work - the old track gets better as the years roll by. thanks
A few blind dhots
The front nine is significantly easier than the back nine. Overall course conditions were good.
Great value....
The course is in average condition like most courses this year due to the drought. We were paired up with a couple that plays here all the time which was great since we never played here before and there were some blind shots and trouble spots you need to know about in order to plan your shots (mostly on the back nine). The pace of play was perfect no issues at all and we played on beautiful Saturday at 11:00. It looks like they're working on making the course better some constructtion was happening around tee boxes and greens none of which slowed done play. We would definitely go back you can't beat the great deal you get from golfnow so it's well worth the drive!
Videtta Family Touches Make This Place A Nice Treat
If you are looking for a solid "throw back" place to enjoy golf...look no further. The staff treats you like gold and the wonderful greens make up for a place that has done well to survive a difficult period of heat/drought...the maintenance crew has been working overtime to keep this course more than respectable. I would recommend this place for all levels of players...a good place for "family" golf...if you're a low handicapper or fast player you need to get on the course early or you can expect a little wait between holes...the ranger did come out and was doing his best to keep play moving...nice touch...was able to get around the course in four hours on a Sunday morning...and had a lot of fun doing it...some challenging holes to make it interesting...would go back for an early morning round in a heart beat...great deal with Golfnow...
Back
We played the front 9 in less than 2 hours as a foursome but then when it came to the back we were waiting on the tee box with the group ahead on every hole.
