Great course
Beautiful coastal New England layout. Scorable first hole, immediately followed by a 454 yd par 4! Most of the rough wasn’t too punishing, making recovery easier. The greens were in nice shape. They were rolling a bit slower than the practice green. A very fun course to play, and can’t wait to come back for more!
Lovely course, but a few extra long holes.
I’m a pretty decent golfer (16 ) but 460 par 4. ? Really …. Maybe on the PGA . There are a couple pretty long
4s and par 5s also… 560.
It’s a lovely spot and in nice condition.
GVCC
Definitely one of my favorite New England courses!! Whenever I get to Newport this is a must play. Course is long so bring your driver and woods. Greens are in fantastic shape. Hidden gem!! Enjoy

Pace of play, no rangers
The course rules state “no more than 4 players in a group “ The group in front of us had 5 players. Four In carts, one walker. Very slow play. On the back nine they added another walker for a brief time. The starter allowed them to play with 5 and no course rangers were seen through out the entire round. Twosome and threesomes teed off right after us so the fifth player could have joined those groups.
One of my favorite places to play
One of my favorite places to play. Joe and the grounds crew do a fabulous job of keeping the course in shape for as many months of golf that the weather permits. The staff is extremely friendly and the food has gotten so much better than in the past. Cant wait to come back!
Great Golf Course
I have played Green Valley numerous times. It is a wonderful test of golf for both high handicap golfers as well as accomplished players. The course is always in great shape and well maintained. I wish they would just increase the speed of the green’s slightly. This is not a not a complaint about the greens as they are always in great shape, it is just I am a player who prefers very fast greens. If I have one complaint about the course it is almost impossible to get tee times during the summer. However, if you can get on the course it is a real treat to play.
