Today was absolutely the worst shape I have ever seen Brookstone in, which is so disappointing because it was my “go to” course for many years. I had hoped that going private for a time would rejuvenate it, but what seems to have happened is the opposite.
Everything about the course was bare - the clubhouse stock, the tee boxes, fairways, greens,.... It is late in December, but there are more than a few courses in the area which have lower fees and MUCH better conditions.
Quite sad today!
Brookstone needs competitive Hot Deal.
I’ve played the course several times over the years and agree that it is a nice course, but if I’m looking for a hot deal on the golf now app, Brookstone isn’t even in the ballpark. If anything, they need to reduce their rate on the morning of the hot deal day to something in the teens. Not that I’m cheap, but there are nicer courses that are significantly less costly and in much better shape than Brookstone with far better hot deals.
For $28 I wasn’t expecting much. But the layout is pretty good - par 3s are quite strong, but you need to play par 5 #12 a few times to figure out how to tackle it. Course conditions are just average, but you can see they are trying to improve. Greens in particular show promise as they had some speed and quite a bit of movement.
Pro was very helpful in giving tips on some of the holes.
I enjoyed my round. Course has a very nice layout. Not the best maintained course, but it was still a nice round. I would not go back if I had to pay the listed green fee. There are nicer courses cheaper.
I live about an hour away and it’s been a while since I had played Brookstone. Meadows. I had forgotten how much fun the layout was. Super friendly staff and good pace of play. We will definitely be back soon.
This course is not being taken care of . Everything is worn out ,course is drab and not well manicured. Greens are bumpy. A complete waste of time.
No Tee Time on file at course
Club Representative said that they had dicontinued their relationship with GOLFNOW, and they were in the middle of a SENIOR tournament, made up of groups of 5 & 6 golfers...He let us go off, but we went nowhere...only played 3 holes on the front, and then left.
The course was in average conditions for Februrary. The greens could use some work. The bunkers were in poor conditions with standing water and packed sand
Terrain is very hilly and for someone from NW Ohio this was a drastic change. Greens left a little to be desired but given price and overall course condition it was a good experience.
The fairways were clean but greens were in poor shape.
Overall the course is clean with good roll on the fairways but the greens were barren and very rough. Putts would not hold a line.
Enjoyed the course. Greens were very fast. Play was fast
Course has recently been punched and recovered nicely, ready for play.
Great Layout. Nice test.
Course in great shape, even though they had recently aerated greens. Will come back.
Nice fairway conditions and decent greens.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Course plays well; lieelt short. The greens are nice, but some needed some actual grass, as they were a bit bald. Heavy sand in traps. Speed of play was great and folks were very courteous.
Good Weekend Value
Brookstone Meadows is a fairly hilly, generally well-kept course in a residential development. The greens are fast and in good shape with only occasional spotty areas. Our pace of play on Sunday afternoon was quite slow due to two fivesomes that teed off prior to our tee time. We frequently waited for the foursome ahead of us who were waiting on the fivesomes. This despite the fact we had one high-handicap lady in our foursome slowing our play. However, we did enjoy the day and the great value obtained thru GolfNow.com.
Great layout for a residential course
I have played this course many times over the past 5 years. My biggest disappointment is the condition of the greens. With all the rain we have had, they should be in great shape. I believe there are some issues with them. Overall, I always enjoy playing here.
This course was fairly tough with mostly average width fairways. Fairly easy place to hang onto your golf ball. The greens were so soft that I was leaving a divot when flopping onto the green from ten yards off. Greens were still very fast though. Great course for the value!
Not crowded on Sunday; challenging if you don't play it regularly due to the hidden trouble areas;
Always fun to play here
I never get tired of playing this course. The surrounding houses alone give you plenty to look at!
