Very challenging
Terrain is very hilly and for someone from NW Ohio this was a drastic change. Greens left a little to be desired but given price and overall course condition it was a good experience.
Rainy day
Played in the rain but course held up OK. My friend really enjoys the course so we get over here a couple times a year. Can get some crazy bounces on a couple holes but overall a nice place to ppay. Be careful on # 10 - folks hitting over the range can hit into you if they hit a wild one.
10/10 recommend
This course is a hidden gem! Such a great value, great atmosphere, and challenging in the most exciting way. The fairways are cut well and the greens roll smooth. I'll be back soon!

We really enjoyed this course. The layout is unique and turf was in great shape. The course really played well overall and I feel it offers a solid value, even during prime time. We also enjoyed the new Trackman Range!

Wow!
Overall, I can't recommend The Club at Brookstone highly enough. Whether you're looking for a challenging round of golf or simply a relaxing day out with friends and family, this club has it all. I've been coming here and years and this course has gone through so many improvements! I can see all the money, thought, and time that has been ongoing to make it what it is. The trackman feature is interesting and fun! It helped me warm up prior to hitting the course. This is my favorite course in the upstate- not to mention the best bang for your buck.
Awesome Course & Really Nice Range
This course is great. We really enjoyed our time playing here. The conditions were really nice overall and the driving range is top-notch. We felt like it was a really nice value as well, compared to other area courses. The beverage cart girl and all of the staff were really nice. Cheap beer and hot dogs, great atmosphere - we had a great time and will be back soon!

The course has done a terrific job of updating the facilities. Stay is super friendly and great deals on golf balls. The best part is they have motorcycle golf carts for a little extra, and it was super fun. So great I went twice this week!
Needs a lot of work
Interesting place for sure… a course built for selling Real Estate lots years back.The Golf Course has changed ownership over the years and has therefore not been properly maintained and even now its owners are not located locally. We were greatly disappointed in the course conditions. Been playing golf for decades all over the southeast, so have a pretty good feel for price vs value. This is a $28 course. However with millions of dollars invested “in the course conditions” it could be a decent layout. Therein lie my confusion over Brookstone. It seems current ownership has zero prior knowledge in the Golf Industry and is spending on the wrong things. Golfers, especially good or longtime golfers, want nice grasses, and nice greens. Not the latest gadgets that do nothing for the course. Single person scooter carts and new driving ranges do nothing for the Course conditions! I’ve known personally several golf course owners for a number of years… they all are on-site and involved in the daily labor and management. They have to be… none of these guys are making a killing… and one hasn’t produced a profit in the 11 years he’s owned his course. Overhead cost for maintaining & operating a golf course is very expensive Chemicals alone cost them around $85,000 per year.
The Green Fee pricing at Brookstone is also overly complicated, .. with rate changes every several hours. Senior rates are offered only 4 days per week. Currently none of these fees match the course conditions!
He’s 30, took the course from the brink of bankruptcy to the most popular public golf course in the western half of South Carolina, and he isn’t local because he’s defending our country as an active duty Officer and F-15 pilot in the Air Force. I’m sorry you didn’t get your senior discount, sir, but this is a small veteran owned business that you’re going out of your way with multiple profiles to discredit for no good reason. You ought to be embarrassed and after actual thought should delete your dishonest manipulation of this page.
your owner is a 28 yr old whose been in the Industry for 2 years along with numerous other business! He was 1 of 76 presenters at the PGA show.. and they were the ones paying to speak!
Additionally, sir, our owners are paid to speak and teach PGA pros each year at the PGA Show. PGA Pros from all over pay $300 a session to listen to lessons from our owner. Your assertions are both incorrect and unfounded.
Sir, I'm sorry you weren't happy with course conditions. With that said, we'd like more information about what exactly you felt didn't hit the mark. Can you please email us at clubatbrookstone@gmail.com? Our ownership has written a blank check for course maintenance. As I'm sure you know, a complete turnaround takes time regardless of $$ invested, and you played during a wet time and in mid-March which is the toughest time of year for course conditions. While I understand your argument for value, at the same time we are consistently sold out and we were GolfNow's most popular public golf course for 2022 and 2023 in the western half of South Carolina, so obviously many people feel it's a good value. If prime conditions are what you're after, I'd be happy to comp your next round and have you back in late April, when the course is out of dormancy and ready to go. Lastly, our greens fees are tiered according to demand for that time of the day. If you feel it's a $28 course (first of all that is a bit of an exaggeration for sure, seeing as how we are consistently sold out) then that's fine, you come for our twilight special for $25. If you want to play at prime time, then it'll be the prime rate which many people are very happy to consistently pay. Anyways, I hope all of this makes sense and you take us up on our offer to come back and play during the time of year that'll yield the perfect conditions you're after.
Early in the season
Early in the year, not much grass yet in the fairways. Pro shop was Outstanding. Little slow. Group in front of us searching for balls on every hole and hitting a couple shots. Beautiful day and playing golf. Like the layout
Great course, great value
I recently had the pleasure of playing a round at The Club at Brookstone, and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff who made me feel right at home.
The layout is challenging, with each hole presenting its own unique set of obstacles. The fairways are lush and well-maintained. The Greens were even and rolling well considering the season. Cannot wait to be back!
Pace of play of play is the worst ive ever seen
Ive had multiple 4.5 hour rounds. Groups of 6 to 8 playing in front of me. Absolute circus

Cart paths need repair carts are showing wear greens were very good.
I will play again
One of the better public courses in upstate South Carolina. Only complaint I would have is it's time to get some new golf carts as they are getting tired.

Actually 90% of recent reviews for this gold course were submitted by users with less than 3 reviews, all being 5 star and for this gold course! Established Reviews with multiple reviews for multiple course seem to rarely give it 5 stars! Golfpass needs to look into this, otherwise this web feature is useless to it customers!
