Great Find
Great old course in very nice condition. Incredible bargain. Small greens and some very unique holes. My favorite course in town.
Nice Traditional Golf Course.
Course will be in good shape as Bermuda comes out moving into the season. Hope to get opportunity to play again. Fun and challenging.
Poor course, poor condition, so slow!
We booked this course as its name made it sound OK. Oh what a mistake. The course was not in great shape, fairways are very rough, the greens needed a great deal of work, the bunkers had no sand. And it is down market with jeans being the order of the day. So there is very little positive about the place. The worst part however is the slowness of the round. As we were waiting to go off on the 1st, a 6 ball were playing the 9th. Yes a 6 ball! On a Sunday when it was busy. Clearly this had an effect on the round as everything became stacked up. And of course this is condoned by the staff as nothing was said to them. Definitely not recommended.
Decent course
Course played well. Greens were in good shape given date played. Fairway on one of back nine holes was a muddy mess. Overall I would play it again.
Nice Course
This is my usual place to play as the value for the course is pretty good. The course is doing some much needed maintenance, like repaving the cart paths in certain areas, trimming some bushes and trees back. A couple of trimmings have made the course a little more difficult, by taking aways trees that give you a way to gauge the distance, I am not complaining about this because I think that courses usually do the opposite and make courses easier. One of the better courses in town for the money.
Course/ greens in great shape, staff very friendly and accommodating.
Green are excellent for this time of year, fairways lush, and conditions are as good as I've ever seen.
This course is fun to play
Anderson CC is a fun course that is always in pretty good shape. The bermuda greens are sneaky fast and depending on pin placements you can have your work cut out for you. The fairways are lush and undulating and a level lie is hard to come by on some holes. The bunkers look as though they have had sand added recently and are great. The greens are in fairly good shape though some hold the ball well and some seem kind of spongey and the ball bounces a little before stopping. The greens are fast for the most part and putt somewhat smooth. The only areas on this course that need attention are the tree lined areas separating holes, they are bare, rocky, and full of exposed tree roots. Overall they are still in great shape considering all the rain lately as the #13 hole, usually a par 5 shortened to a par 3, can fully dry out. The staff are always super friendly and i would encourage anybody who likes a timeless old track to come give it a try.
Great old course, convenient location.
Most holes were long and straight, not too tricky, not a lot of blind tees, moderately wide fairways, off fairway not too thick, able to find/play errant balls, and the greens were great. Lost a couple balls in the fairway though as the grass seems to be a little on the tall side, but that would be the only complaint. Overall, this high handicapper loved it.
course needs attention
I wish the course had let us know before playing that the par 5 on the closing nine was pretty much unplayable. The entire fairway was a mud muck hole.
The course was in good condition.
The overall condition was good.the greens were very receptive and considering all the rain we've been having the course drain well.
great course
The course was in Great Condition.
I really appreciate the friendliness of the employees at the Pro Shop.
A great course to play, with some good challenges.
Good course
This course was our first time playing here and we really enjoyed the challenge. Fairways were in good condition and greens were also. Customer service was excellent. Will play here again. Great job ACC.
Great Value
A friend and I took advantage of the "Twosome Special" recently. So, we both played 18 holes for twenty dollars a piece, which was a great deal for the shape of the course. The course was not extremely challenging, but had several beautiful holes. The course isn't necessarily in the best part of town, but it is well maintained and the staff was very friendly and made us feel like they appreciated our business. I am sure I will play this course again in the near future.
Course was in good shape.
Enjoyed the round. Brought my brother-in-law. First time he had played this course. Will play again.
Course has a lot more potential.
The greens were in good shape and rolled fairly well. The fairways were in rough shape and nothing off of the fairways was manicured. Driving range was pitiful just a strip of grass located in between two holes the grass on the range wasn't even cut.
Beautiful old course
We stopped at Anderson Country Club while travelling through the area and were playing this course very early in the spring season> Naturally, the grass was still dormant and little could be done to change this. The staff were out and about clearing debris from the winter months and getting ready to bring the course up to it's usual standards. The track is wonderful, with mature and majestic trees along wide fairways. The course meanders up and down rolling hills.
The young man that welcomed us in the Pro Shop was very helpful, especially after the game when we were looking for places to go to eat and stay in the area.
potentail is there
greens good but pin placements that day were very difficult for average golfer. If possible the course needs a fix for the drainage problem-several days after rain, several holes were very soggy.
