Lady's Island Country Club - Pines Course
Lady's Island Country Club is a local favorite, popular for its versatile design that is straightforward but offers enough of a challenge to keep you on your toes the whole course. Four sets of tees make it even more accessible to a wide range of skill levels. The club, which opened in 1970, is Beaufort's oldest golf club. With back tees reaching over 7,000 yards, the golf course is a long hitters paradise. The course twists and turns dramatically, providing tricky doglegs throughout. Not only does this challenging golf course demand lengthy and accurate drives, each hole requires thought and strategy. The terrain is mostly flat but several of the greens are elevated. In addition to the course, Lady's Island also offers a driving range with target greens, a putting green, and a chipping green with practice bunkers.

Support and give the new owners a little time
Extremely friendly and accommodating owners and staff. Course has a wonderful layout. A good combination of easy holes and tough, long holes. Very picturesque scenery.
Enjoy a round of golf at an extremely reasonable rate and be a part of bringing this course back.
Enjoyed playing the course despite recent aeration of the greens. Played from the white tees. Being a lowcountry course it is flat. Greens have received attention but fairways need some work. Still, all in all, a nice round for the price.
Great course for the value!
Friendly staff, great layout and long par 4’s. Greens need a little TLC, but they played well.
This course is an absolute joke. Most of the tee boxes are like sand traps along with many poorly manicured fairways. Stay away from this course.
This was my first time on the course. As the other reviews explained - the course is under new ownership and it is evident that the old owner did not properly maintain the course. The new ownership is really improving the course as quickly and efficiently as possible. The greens were in very good shape and rolled true. The tee boxes are in need of some new grass and the fairways are thin - some seed and the growing season should help. For the cost - it's a fair price for the condition of the course. I would play the course again. I will definitely play the course again in the future after the new ownership has more time to continue to make improvements and properly maintain the course.
Course is on the come back
Great new owners!! The course is definitely headed in the right direction. John and his staff are doing amazing work.
Rain got the best of the course
All the rain has washed out the fairways on the front 9. The greens were terrible my ball bounced all over the place all day.
Good vulue for money
Course not in good shape Holes are close, so we walked.
Front nine under repair, son we plan as he's back nine twice.
Nice restaurant , menu is affordable, food very good.
There is no water not service cart. Not fun where is not.
This course has improved since I last played there in May. Some of the greens on the front still have some problem spots around the perimeter and the fairways have some thin spots. The back nine is immaculate. One problem that I have is that there are no water coolers on the course and it was a very hot day.
The course has some problems with bare spots on the greens. The grass in the fairways is thin in some places. Once the fairways and greens fill in the course will be very nice. Most of the bare spots on the greens are around the perimeter with the rest of the green being perfect. There aren't any invasive grasses or weeds on the greens or in the fairways. The price is very reasonable so even if you don't think it is up to your standard it didn't cost you a fortune. I have to mention that the man in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful.
Course acquired by same group that owns Sanctuary on Cat Island. New sand here also, hope they improve course more. First holes tees and greens bad, by back nine ok. Decent layout, thin fairways. Wouldn't play again until I heard of improvements.
The staff was really friendly and he walked outside the club house to show us the first hole. We thought that was very polite. The course had slow greens although it was just aerated recently. I played with my wife and she just rode. We played in 2.5 hours. I would play it again when traveling to HHI, SC
Good course for the money
This was my first time playing this course and I found it to be average. The staff we came in contact with did an excellent job with customer service, but the food selection was only small snacks no lunch items such as sandwiches or hamburgers were available during the time we were there. The practice facilities were average to below average. I will probably play here again in the future because the price was low enough and the pace of play was fast.
Beaufort side trip
We wanted to see Beaufort, SC and play golf after so chose this course. We could not believe the price but found out why it was so cheap! Both the fairways, tee boxes and greens were in terrible condition. There is little or no grass on the fairways or tee boxes and the greens were as bad. The fellow in the pro shop was very nice and there was almost no one on the course so play was very fast. This would be a great course if the greens and fairways were greatly improved. The traps were the best place to play from .
Long and Tree lined
The course has a great layout in my opinion, The one thing I would say if you can't drive at least 270 and control the ball play the whites. I played from the blues and I was at the edge of my ability for this course. The only negatives I have was the greens, they had just punched them the week of my round and they where tough. A lot of sand and some areas where not in very good shape. The fairways on the front side did have some deadpan areas, but the back was in outstanding shape. I will go back later in the summer and play this course again. If the greens and the front 9 fairways match the back 9 fairways this is truly a gem for the price.
This course has some interesting holes, is not terribly long, but can be narrow in some areas. Overall, my wife and I both liked it very much. It is fairly well maintained and not overplayed. The round played quickly and the value for the money spent was great! I would agree, however, with the others who complained about the car paths. The use chipped wood instead of a hard surface, and that could be good if they would flatten and smooth it out better. The bumps began to take its toll on my back by the end of the round. Don't let that stop you, though. This course is solid and I would definitely return. Worth the 45-minute drive from Hilton Head.
