Course in good shape, just needs a little rain!
Course plays tough from men’s tees a lot of doglegs, greed are firm but put true! Nice peaceful round or golf!!
Pinehurst feel
Stare Park is a great layout with super smooth greens. If you don’t hole it then it’s your own fault.
Tall pines and great greens makes you feel like you are playing a Pinehurst course
Gem on way to Myrtle
Great course. Only issue was pace of play as there was a group of 28 guys in front of us on their annual Ryder cup weekend. Almost 5 hours. Would still play there again.
Greens
Greens are usually excellent, but they were I little rough this time. I assume they are in transition.
Cheraw State Park - course review
Excellent layout with great Bermuda greens. Fairways/roughs extrermely wet - grass has not started growing yet. Cart paths are in bad condition. No ranger to monitor play. Hard to walk too much distance between greens and next tees.
Hidden Gem
We loved this course.
We will definitely go back.
The greens were in very good shape
The only reason it got an average rating from us on course conditions Is they had a huge rain overnight before we played and it was very wet
There's nothing they can do about the rain.
Great layout and great condition
I love the fact that this is a state park! The setting is grand. The course layout is fair... although every hole seems to be a dogleg right. The greens will be great once the weather heats up and the fairways will be tight pile carpet. This is a fantastic value for the money and a really fun time. I will be back very soon!
2, yes... 7&9 are straight if not slight right... 12, 13, &18 are doglegs left ... 4 holes at most that go left. Everything else is dogleg right or straight but right leaning. Do you even dogleg bro?
Love this place....6 holes are dogleg left...2, 7, 9, 12, 13, 18
A scruffy old favorite!
Have been playing here over 30 years, two hour drive from my home base. Lot's of Myrtle Beach bound golfers stop coming or going.
Greens in surprising good shape at this early date. Bunkers is bad shape with limited amounts of sand.
Choose the right tees and enjoy the wildlife, vistas, and lakes.
Hidden Gem
Great course! Hidden gem. Always enjoy playing there. Great course, especially for the price.
Always enjoy playing here
This is our go to golf course, everyone that works here is fantastic,. Although the course was still wet on certain areas, they did let you ride on the course. We have had a lot of rain in January and February so the course did have have some areas where you didn’t want to ride on and leave marks in the fairway.. Like most course around they did not over seed and you had a lot of thin areas, but that was to be aspected. The greens where in great shape, but the bunkers do need some work.
Best course
This course has outstanding greens that roll true and subtle breaks. Plays medium long with water on only 2 holes bunkers are well placed, deep but a few need improved drainage. Outstanding course especially given the greens fees.
Great course
This is truly a gem. Great layout and condition with beautiful natural scenery. Very friendly and welcoming staff
Waoowwww
Saw all the great reviews and drove out 1.5 hrs from Charlotte and woww what a beautiful course with so many incredible views. It almost feels like a nature preservation. Many solid holes with a few extra challenging. 4.6 rating we’ll deserved
It is a different level of quiet on that course
