Greens in great shape
The greens are green and have a solid fill in. They are a tad slow but run true. Only a few small problem areas on three but werent in play. With so many clubs having lost thier greens this was a welcomed sight.
The course is getting better
The greens are starting to improve from about three weeks ago. The pace of play was bad the guys in front of us was holding us up they were just standing around talking instead of playing and they didn’t care at all. They need a ranger at all times
OK
LinRick has some green issues at present. It is generally better but weather conditions earlier in the year had affected the greens at most courses. It is a county course and better than most government run courses . Fairways are coming in. Limited food available but prices on snacks are the lowest anywhere. My group plays there weekly. It will improve when the greens come back.
Good lay out. 2 many twosomes. Very slow. Overall not bad. Would play it again.
Linrick
Very slow play. Greens bad. If any grass it was poa. Overall just bad.
Nice round!!!
Overall I really enjoyed my round at Linrick! The layout was interesting but fair, with 16, 17 and 18 the most memorable. It really helped to play with some regulars, Ken, Bill and Danny really made it enjoyable. They steered me around the course and couldn't have been better hosts. I was happy that none of them brought out their midseason games and I felt like I belonged. The greens were not at peak season form but they were consistent. I realize my review was tempered by the fact that I'm from Bflo., NY and our courses are just a few starting to open. I was enjoying the 82 degree day the course provided.
Not to mention I got a hole in one...
I've always liked the course. But now I have a memory I'll always cherish there picking up an ace on hole number 2 par 3. Other than that, the course is in great shape, greens are slick, fairways and 2nd cut are in decent shape, I still hate that crazy par five with that steep hill for a second shot. But great course and wonderful memory.
Challenging and fun
Having just come from Florida the elevation changes on this course were a real treat. Many of the greens are elevated - 15 & 17 especially. The greens and fairways are still winter conditions but quite playable. There are a number of blind tee shots where we lost sight of the group ahead- periscopes would have helped.
Not bad
Greens are tricky to putt. Due to cold weather, the course hasn’t “popped” yet. Really tight lies everywhere, especially in fairways. Overall, I enjoy getting out to Linrick. It’s all about the golf there, which is a throwback. Nothing fancy, just a good place to work on your game.
Not your same old Municipal Course
LinRick is operated by the Richland County Rec Commission. The course as to fairways and greens is in very good condition. Has a good variety of holes with some tight and some wide fairways. Off the fairway can be a little rough so hit it straight. I have played this course weekly for years and it’s always in admirable condition for a public course. A great value if you use Golf Now Hit Deals. Senior rate is $22 without a deal. Tee times suggested but I have walked on many times without a tee time.
Golf experience
Nice layout and very interesting holes. Fall foliage would be an awesome time to play this course. Nice variety of hole layouts. Would definately recommend this as a stop if you're in the Columbia area.
Excellent Course!
I always enjoy playing this course. This course in is very condition, fairways and greens are in great condition! I especially enjoy the challenge of the back 9, in particular 14-17. In my opinion they are very tough and you feel accomplished if you can par or bogey your way through them!
Staff made me wait past my tee time as a single until the other three showed up--offered to let me go early if I paid an extra $15!?! Four folks showed up, then he paired me with another golfer who was great to play with. Course is in excellent condition; better than many upscale courses in the area.
Been better
Overall the course is in good shape and challenging. I played out of three sand bunkers, two had very little sand, three of greens had sprigs of long grass on them causing poor roll on puts. I enjoyed a good round and will return however please correct the issues.
Great closing holes
Have played many courses. Holes 14 thru 17 are the most challenging I have ever played!
Great value!
And I think LinRicks is one of the best courses in the Midlands. A great challenge for the average player! You get rewarded for good shots, and punished for those not so good!
Great Course for the Money
I play at LinRick fairly often. The course is always in nice shape. Pace of play is generally pretty good but there are times when it can be a little slow. Highly recommend this course.
Staff not-so-friendly
Yes this is not my first time playing golf course and it's a very nice course but for the staff to bad-mouth GolfNow and say that they do not like golf now then why use it and I asked him that you have a problem with golf now do not relate to your customer that is just poor management
