Nice course, great staff, excellent conditions
Plush Bermuda fairways, challenging rough. Nice layout. Great staff and excellent course conditions. Played midday, 4:15 round.greens were nice and quick.
Short Track/Good Value
The Point has a short layout (less than 6400 yards from the tips. The fairways are spectacular. My only complaint is the number of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. C'mon boys fix your ball marks. That said, the greens were pretty quick and true. The bunkers around the green were consistent. Back to the layout - there was not a lot of imagination in the development of the course. There are more interesting layouts nearby. The Point remains a good value for you OBX vacation dollars.
100% Bermuda grass fairways and rough.
This is not a particularly tough course, but that is what made it fun for us. We had a couple golfers with us who only golf on vacation and they were able to feel good about their play.
Great course and value
Nice course that is fairly wide open and appropriate for all levels of players. Just pick the right teebox! Greens were very fast, but in excellent shape. Be ready for real 2nd cut rough. Looking forward to playing here again next time in OBX.
Vacation golf
Very friendly staff. Very scenic. Good cost for the area using GN. Had to rent clubs, $35 premium clubs and $22 for standard. Great pace and wide open course so my drive played well from all the wrong fairways.
Very nice course and people working there
Very friendly staff, great open course, highly recommended
Open friendly course
The Pointe provided our threesome with a very pleasurable experience. I played with my mother-in-law and son. All three of us were able to enjoy the course with it's open fairways and large greens. We played in the afternoon and completed the round in a little over three hours!! The GN price made it a real value for our family.
Joe A
Staff was extremely friendly. Course was in fantastic shape. There was a Bridgestone rep on site doing free ball evaluations. Played Currituck on Wednesday played the Point on Friday ...wish I would've just played the point both days Currituck is not worth the money!
Excellent condition
Very much enjoyed the course. As with all down in the Outer Banks, it was a bit expensive, but getting a GolfNow.com rate was helpful.
Nice Course, Great Price for Summer
Very nice course received a very nice course received a warm welcome from the cart staff upon arrival. Bag drop took our bags from the car place them on the cart and showed us where to find the pro shop. Starter was very helpful, explain the course rules, and got us out of early! Pace of play was excellent and the course Ranger kept tabs and we are allowed to play through slower for some I had of us. Course conditions were good greens were soft and receptive, all in all a good day of golf. Would recommend this course went down in the Outer Banks of North Carolina!
Excellent Greens and Good Value
This is a very s. nice shore style layout with excellent green surfaces. These are the best green surfaces that I have played on in many years. The overall layout is interesting but not anything unusual. Fairway condition is also very good. Bunkers and sand are in good shape. I would definitely recommend this course. It is better than Currituck Club and costs less too. The course is a 45 minute ride from Corolla NC, at 7:30 in the morning.
Very nice
The fairways well kept greens were nice some cups cut on small rises staff very friendly
Showing improvement
We have been playing this course for years and are pleased to see the effort they are making to improve the greens and fairways. It is a lovely little course that is very easy to maneuver and the employees have always been very friendly. While it doesn't have the amenities of most of the other area courses, it is a great place to go out for a quick round without having to hassle with a crowded course.
Playability
Course is in very good shape
Challenging layout is good for low handicappers and wide fairways let high handicappers keep the ball in play
One of the best in OBX
Thoroughly enjoy this course, I play here several times a year, one of my favorites. Very forgiving layout, course in great shape , wide fairways. Very accommodating staff.
Pointe pleasant
Course is best deal in nags head. The other courses in nags head proper need to make their course playable for average joes. It is not good to hit a drive with a 5 yard cut and roll a few feet off the fairway and be lost in scrubby bushes. Not at the point generous fairways and pretty speedy greens course condition is always great. Cart girl is always out unlike the links and the scape. The staff is great too. Some holes are deceiving. Play longer than they look. Worth the play
Slow Play
Nice course but ranger did nothing to speed up very slow and disrespectful play.
Short and Sweet
Played from the white tees. Greens and tees in excellent condition. No rough to speak of although there are 'wild' areas if you go too far a field.
For the most part it's just a fun course to play but I never figured out the greens.
Great finishing hole
Just as nice as the first time I played it several years ago. Conditions excellent and the golfers seem to take care of the course. Many public course do not fair as well.
The Pointe
I have play this course every time I come to the OuterBanks and love playing here. The people at the Pro Shop as well as the Resturant are very friendly and accommodating and make the experience very enjoyable. The course it self is always in great playable shape, and it's usually the first course I'll play when we arrive in the OBX. If you have the opportunity to play here, do it
