A Bit of a Drive but Worth It
Practice range is huge with nice grass. Chipping green nice, huge putting green. Do not come hungry. Bbq and plain hotdog, a few snack bags.
Course is challanging. Greens huge, protected by mounds and multiple sigat sand bunkers. Fairways wide with nice lush grass. Greens newly renovated and very firm still. Bring a good short game and a range finder. Playing to center of green leaves very long putts. Multiple rangers on course to speed play. Starter on weekends, not sure about weekdays. Pace of play was great. 4.25 hours on a weekend, wow. Nice clubhouse and friendly staff. Bought a shirt and medallion I enjoyed it so much. Thanks Bayonet.
Bayonet is a Must in the Area
Played 05-04-24 Saturday. Driving range is massive with course condition grass. Chipping green was awesome, as was the huge practice green. The course has multiple rangers to speed play. Starter on weekends, not sure about weekdays. The course is very challenging. You will not be texas wedging from off the green. Bring a good short game. Mounds and bunkers protect all the greens bad approach shots. The grass and greens are on par with the Pinehurst Resort, except #2 and #4. Lots of variations each hole. Fairways are wide, greens massive size.
It is 35 minutes from Pinehurst, 20 from Fayetteville. Well out in the country with nothing close the only negative. Don’t come hungry.only package snacks, pre made bbq, and plain hotdog. Not even a drink dispensing machine with ice. Staff are friendly. Clubhouse is nice. Loved my day here and will be back. Even bought a logo shirt inside and a medallion.
STOP OVER
ALL GOOD EXCEPT TRAFFIC THROUGH FAYETTVILLE AFTER THE GAME
Nice layout. Needs some TLC
Really like the layout and lack of housing on the course. Conditions were very average. Not terrible by any stretch of the imagination but the greens were slow and not very consistent. Fairways were good with sand mix available and used to fill divots. Tee boxes not very good. Lots of bare spots just off the fairways. I don't think course conditions warrant $75 at 2:30pm. I still enjoyed myself and would play again though. I feel they need some manicuring.
Course has been renovated and is now in top condition.
Nice lay out
Very nice course. It is a bit out in the country.
Nice terrain and many streams. Greens were in good shape and putted nicely. If staying in the Pinehurst area about a 40 minute drive.
I my opinion worth the drive
A nice little gem in the middle of nowhere. Greens in good shape, consistent. Plenty fast and large. Few ball marks. LikeTifeagle Bermuda. The whole property is not overly manicured but the areas in play are well-maintained. Traveling to So. Pines from Wisconsin via a winter in Fl. Nice overseeding at this dormant time. Sooner or later I need to get better chipping out of dormant grasses. We’ll be back.
Wow. I played 05-04-24 and it was a gem. No food except hotdog but course and practice area are top not h.
