Good course, NOT as good as the reviews
I read great review after great review. For a course to get 4.5 stars out of 5 it better be amazing. It was a good course but no where near 4.5 stars. The practice facility is ok but does not transfer to the course at all. Tee boxes were good and greens were good and fast but tons of weeds in the fairway. It says on the scorecard that the course doesn't get old because no hole is the same. most of the holes are dead straight and short though. Pace of play was pretty bad. On the first tee, the course seems like its gonna be pretty good, the first hole is the best it gets. Study the course map because you will need to know not to hit driver on a couple par 4s i think 7 and 8. #9 is a great great hole. For $35 its worth it but thats it. If you can hit straight shots you can demolish this course. If you drive the ball well then play from the back tees otherwise the course is extremely short. If you can shape shots then the par 5s are reachable with 7-8 irons from the back. Crab grass is everywhere. I dunno if there are members at the course but if you're behind groups of 4 they won't even acknowledge you. You'll never pass. It was a windy day and the round was good though.
Nice lay out
Very nice course. It is a bit out in the country.
Nice terrain and many streams. Greens were in good shape and putted nicely. If staying in the Pinehurst area about a 40 minute drive.
I my opinion worth the drive
A nice little gem in the middle of nowhere. Greens in good shape, consistent. Plenty fast and large. Few ball marks. LikeTifeagle Bermuda. The whole property is not overly manicured but the areas in play are well-maintained. Traveling to So. Pines from Wisconsin via a winter in Fl. Nice overseeding at this dormant time. Sooner or later I need to get better chipping out of dormant grasses. We’ll be back.
Very nice layout, course in very good condition even if we played it in décembre.
Should be very interesting in summer,
Great bent greens
Challenging layout but the greens were the real star
Hidden Gem!
I had not played this course for about ten years, but, remembered it as one my golf buddies and I liked. It was nice to see the renovations had improved upon a good thing. The routing was still the same, but the course had a huge improvement in greens, sand traps, and tees. I highly recommend this course.
Great course
Lots of great holes out there, and the greens were super receptive.
