Ok conditions
Course needs to update its paths and the food selection in the "grill". Price isn't bad if you play at a time where the price is the cheapest. Not worth much more than that.
Tough but fair
Crowfield is tough but you can score if you're keeping it straight around the many doglegs. Greens have alot of and level changes, and other than being aerated recently, they rolled well. I was wild off the tee and didn't break 90, but my 12 handicap buddy kept it in play and shot 81.
Great Course at a Great Price
I played Golf at Crowfield and had an excellent time! The course was challenging and in excellent shape! The price was very reasonable as well. Overall an excellent course!
We should've played eleswhere...
Right out of the gate my friend visiting from CA gets a set of rental clubs and the putter is from 1930 era and the fair way woods have grips that were in a house fire... $20 please. One day of rain and the carts are restricted to the paths. Hottest and most humid day of the Summer and the water coolers on the back nine are empty. I apologized for the course and we left after the 12th hole. I think I'm going to buy a set of cheap (<$250) but playable clubs just to have on hand for visiting family and friends to avoid at least a portion of this wasted day.
Suprisingly nice layout.
Enjoyed the course. Only suggestion would be to have a course diagram in order to have some idea of each hole layout.
Good course
We found the course to be a challenging course. It would have been helpful to know the layout of the holes, but there were no markers at the tee box. You could buy a hole layout card from the pro shop for $1 but it was not suggested to you by the staff. I wish I had spent the dollar.
Rainy day
It down poured about 45 mins before we teed off. Probably close to 2". So it was obviously a little wet but still played well. This course has always been one of my favorites, and drains very well. By the time we hit the back 9 (which is the lower end of the course) it was surprisingly dry. We were glad we decided to stick around and play on despite the continued threat of rain. Staff is always awesome!
Tough but fair
Course is in great shape and you can't beat the price. It's a very tough course if you don't find fairways so keep it straight
Poor Staff
I have played here quite often I live and work within 20 min. of this coarse but out of the last 3 visits to Crowfield we have been told we need to speed up Sunday was the last time I will ever play there again I invited a fore some had a 828 T time we finally t off at 836 just in the first nine holes of play we where confronted by a person from the staff telling us we need to speed it up that we where running behind mind you at no time did we see anyone waiting behind us the score card gives you 2hours and 10 minutes to complete the front 9 we did it in 2 hours 6 minutes for what it costs to play Golf these days you would think courtesy would be in order.
Great golfing experience
I really enjoyed playing this. The course was in great condition! Some of the greens still need a little work but overall great course. The only thing I recommend they work on is the pace of play. The group that I played with were all good golfers and we kept getting badgered by the Marshall on pace of play. He continued following us around the course reminding us of our pace. This was a surprise to us due to us being 15 minutes ahead of the pace and no one behind us. I am not sure if he was aware of our start time or what his deal was, but it became very annoying to say the least. After the third time he drove around we all became annoyed which started effecting our play. We finished our round at exactly 4 hours with a foursome so I am still not sure why he kept following us. I definately want to play this course again, but if this is the way you treat good paying customers I will go somewhere else.

Really enjoyed playing this course would definitely recommend
very challenging
lots of large and deep traps very challenging in great shape even compared to the really pricy courses in the area
Awesome Golf
This was my first time to play here and is one of the better courses I have played .......from the putting and chipping to. The hitting range was great and the course was very nice loved it will be back again and again I'd recommend this course .
Last Minute
I have not played this course in a couple of months and I must say it is in excellent shape compared to comparable course in the area. Fairways and greens are lust and manicured. I love playing here.
Crowfield
The course was in great shape and a good challenge. This is my course of choice to play anytime I visit the Charleston SC area.
Layout
Very good layout. Challenging holes, lots of sand, hope to play it again. Will be on my list of courses for next years vacation!
It's a come back couse
Great layout very challenging.
Not a course for the novice golfer.
Some greens a little bumpy and don't miss a fairway it's all downhill after that.
Staff was great and beer selection almost perfect.
Will be back!!
Good value
Takes 45 minutes from folly beach, but good value for the course. Relatively short, challenging course. Great value for the price and condition of course.
I will start off by apologizing for the initial rental set that was given to you. We had a junior clinic the day before and they gave you the wrong bag. I switched the bag out that morning and gave you the Callaway Set of rental clubs that are in good shape.
The course is currently in excellent shape. We received close to 2 inches of rain the 5 days leading up to Friday and an additional inch of rain that Friday evening. We restrict the carts to cart path to protect the golf course when we receive large amounts of rain and oversaturation.
I apologize that you stopped playing on the 12th hole and did not get to the water coolers on the back 9 that are located on holes 13 and 16.
We hope you choose to come back and play at Crowfield again in the future.
