Village Greens Golf & Country Club
About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Pacing
Coarse had a big tournament that started early and was letting people who lmissed there tee times tee off hour later. Most of the time it’s pretty calm but that particular was just off. I’ll play it again just might be a while
Check in staff grumbled because we used GolfNow, had to show proof that our account had been debited. We asked about a starter and guy at check in said he was the starter and we were good to go. Went to 1st tee, waited on group there to clear, and then 2 of our group had hit, when another foursome drove up and asked if we were part of the tournament. We said no, and they informed us that they were and were the last group, and were angry with us because we had already started. We told them the starter told us we were good to go, and no one was there waiting after the group in front had already cleared so that we could tee off. We told them they could go ahead and go,but they would not. Thought we might have to fight our way out. Just an unfriendly experience.
Saint Patrick’s Day Party
Big St. Patrick’s day bash going on in the pub/grill. Couldn’t get anything to drink (many party goers at the snack shop/bar). Never saw any evidence of a hospitality cart ( this course may not have one). Should have brought my own, Will know better next round we play wherever it is.
There was no starter or player assistance ranger on the course which lead to the most disappointing aspect of this round. When we made the turn from 9 to 10 a group of six (all playing together) jumped in front of us. They were awful and rude, they most likely should have been at a driving range or Top Golf in Greenville. They hit two or more balls off every tee (each player did this). We finally called the pro shop and complained. Someone came out spoke to them and all that they did was to break them up into two groups of three. They played two holes like this and then joined back up as a group of six continuing to hit multiple balls, practice putting on the greens, not leaving the green when everyone had putted out. They should have been made to go to the first tee rather than jump in wherever they pleased. Very disappointed in the staff for not doing the right thing.
Excellent course layout
Fairways and greens in sad shape. Should be much better in a few weeks. Staff was great. A bit expensive for the conditions.
Great course
Course was in good condition for early February. Great food and good deals at the pro shop. Friendly staff.
Not worth playing
I’ve played probably 35 rounds this season, and this was the worst course I’ve played at within an hour of Charlotte. I would encourage the maintenance guys to learn how to grow and care for Bermuda, or kill the current grass and start over. Ground is way to hard and you can tell their not spending money on upkeep. Same with the greens. You need to replace them.their awful. Spend money on maintenance guys.
Village greens
Good place to test yourself. It requires course management and good accuracy.
Great customer service
Really enjoy playing the course and greens are nice. Very good value. Only problem was at the turn we looked down the fairway and there were six players in the middle of the fairway. We were on a tight schedule and management gave us a rain check for any time after one. We appreciated it
