The Preserve at Verdae
The Preserve at Verdae sprawls across a lush landscape of rolling hills and meadows covered with beautiful Carolina forests. Formerly known as Verdae Greens, the golf course was completely revamped but one of the primary goals of the renovation was to find harmony between golf and nature. The carefully reworked course does just that, blending seamlessly into its scenic surroundings. Rambling brooks wander across the layout and provide water hazards on a few holes. The wind is also a major factor on this golf course. The breezes can be either light and refreshing or strong and blustery, making proper club selection even more important. The most photographed hole on the golf course is the par-3 second. If you're lucky enough to come when the azaleas are blooming, this hole offers a breathtaking setting.

Beautiful but tough finishing hope. Photo submitted by u000001682547 on 10/03/2013
Great staff, especially Nancy. I payed as a single and was paired up with two members. They were very helpful in suggesting where to play the ball. The yardage card and noted suggestions were also very helpful. A very positive experience all around. Played second and third rounds the next two days. Course dried out a bit the last day and was more fun when it was running and there was roll. Will play again when back in Greenville. Thanks Nancy for holding the lost 6 iron!
This is a beautiful course! Not an easy course by any means. Greens are fast and true with subtle breaks making three putts easy to obtain.
Course was in excellent condition. Great flag placement with greens rolling consistently. Best tee boxes I’ve seen in months.
Excellent Golf Course
I really enjoy this golf course. The greens are always in great shape. The course is very challenging. The staff always goes out of their way. I highly recommend thsi golf course.
course and greens were in great condition.
Friendly staff and great carts.
SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF!!!!!
Very challenging course. Well worth the few bucks to play!
Some interesting holes; some Goofy golf
Pretty wet (cart path only). Course needs some drainage work & TLC to be honest. There are a few interesting holes, but some that make you wonder what the architect intended. I’d play it again, but would probably try for a Golf Now deal or similar; wouldn't pay full price.
Better Course Condition
We played on a hot Sunday midday. The layout is OK, but since this was our first time, we were not sure about the landing area and direction to hit. Perhaps, too many blind shots.
We are an older couple and found the hills were a bit difficult especially on No. 17 where it was cart path only. Late in the round, the trek back to the cart after hitting was up a steep hill.
I like courses with natural areas, but the course could be a bit more kempt. It had some areas that were in need of upkeep.
But, overall, an OK course.
Hi, we appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting The Preserve at Verdae. We hope you'll give us another try in the future.
slow, set-up terrible for higher handicappers
I do not love this course. It's not great value for the money. Greens were good but the fairways are perpetually soggy due to drainage issues and pace of play is terrible. One of the reasons pace of play is so bad is because they let the rough around the tee boxes grow unreasonable high (maybe this is bc it's "Preserve"?).. so, if you miss hit a tee shot short you likely look for the ball with no success and drop a stroke. this make pace of play very painful and for a low handicapper, your going to spend all day on the course waiting = no fun. On top of all this they charge $65 for a round. There are tons of courses in the area for less $$ that are much better layout and conditions.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. We have projects underway to recover the course conditions and hope you'll bear with us through this transition and give us another try in the near future. Thanks for choosing The Preserve at Verdae.
