The Valley at Eastport Golf Club
About
Architect Dennis Griffiths designed this track as a finesse course. He did not produce the typical beach layout when he created this 18-hole design, built in 1988. It has narrow bermudagrass fairways and large bentgrass greens and is bordered on the east by the Intracoastal Waterway.
Holes No. 1 through 15 are short, and the course lulls you up to this point. Then, the last three holes are uncharacteristically difficult. The course is mostly flat, with occasional uneven lies. Some tree-lined fairways have doglegs. The course is always fun to play and an especially fun round of golf for couples.

ALWAYS LOVE THIS COURSE
Best bang for your buck...best course best price..Diamond in the rough
Southern Scoop
Fun course, good conditions for this time of year, good pace ,friendly helpful staff (Mark). An enjoyable round.
Course needs alot if TLC
This course could be so much better if it was manicured. Overall it was a nice layout, but was not maintained well at all. Cart paths were horrible, broken pavement and muddy. It had rained very hard the night before so muddy conditions was not unusual but even so the course was very disappointing. Also signage was lacking. Couldn’t find our way several times. Not what you expect at a public course where you’re not familiar with the layout.
Needs. More yardage markers
The course needs more visible yardage markers. I guess they expect people to have GPS or yardage scopes. The pace of play was really slow and no player’s assistants out.
Always love this course
Conditions of the course were great. Well maintained
Great Outing
First time and we were welcomed by Tom and Joe at the bag drop and Bill in the Pro shop. We were asked if we minded being matched with another couple and we said no. We had a blast with this couple a little younger than us but all over 70. The course was in great shape for mid February and the pace was very good.
Great Round
Great little course nestled in the famous blue crab region of Little River SC. Though it is a short course with a Par 70, the technical difficulties of narrow fairways, multiple hills with blind sand traps and never ending water opportunities, this course will challenge you! Course is well maintained and the staff is friendly and engaging. This is a local favorite for many. Good luck and bring your A game 👍
Winter Golf
Course condition were what you would expect for winter, but still very playable. Nice track and pretty cool layout. Only negative went out at 7, first tee time only to make the turn and run into a 5some group on the 13th hole. Starter told me regulars, should let me play through, ended up jumping over them. Not sure why courses do this...
Goat track
Don’t bother with this course it may however be better in summer. The cart paths were non existent it was difficult to know where you were going on the fairways
Waste of money.
Rough course
Cart paths are non existent difficult to know where to go from green to tee
Might Be better in summer but if you
Like playing on brown grass go for it
For the he price it’s not worth the drive
Cart paths were terrible
Greens were good, cart paths non existent
Too much dust and leaves
Disappointing day
It was a cold day but being from Canada,we took that in stride..golfed in colder weather..
We got out a little earlier then our tee time at 1228..2nd last group..We were a 4some..let a 3some go by us on 5..We took our time and we were having a good time until the course marshall met us on the green of the 15th hole..told us we were last group out there and would like for us to speed up so they could go home…really, never seen that before…certainly took the fun out of the last few holes..We did finish our round under 4 hours but we did not speed up..
Course conditions were ok…I did speak with a manager the next day on the phone about it..he said he was aware of the situation and would look into it..but he did not bother to take my phone number to let me know why this happened,so there you go…we have always golfed at Eastport a few times each winter but I don’t think we or our friends will bother going back
Unhappy
Not going to go into a lot of details..we were last group on the course on a cold and windy day…being from Canada that not our 1st time in those conditions..However on the #15 green we were approached by the course Marshall and asked if we could speed up and get our round over because they wanted to close up and go home for the day….we thought he was joking .We were well under the allotted time with no one behind us anyway..we were a little shocked for sure and not impressed…we did finish out our round in just under 4 hours..I don’t see the issue there..All four of us paid good money to play, everyday there is a last group..
I did call the manager the next day and apologized for our issue and agreed it should not have happened,we should not have been spoken to at all…
Regarding the course, maybe it is still early in the season…it needs improvement from the tee boxes to the greens..on a positive note, crews were working around the course on different projects..This is a pretty challenging course, fun at times..
Not much positive
Horrible fairways..no grass👎Obviously not overseed! Greens though were very good/consistent. Cart paths were terrible..new golf carts we’re awesome 👍
