#4 West is a cool short par three with several good tee angles into an undulating green. Photo submitted by DenisDotson on 03/28/2020

The best scenery is on #8 West - a long and testing par 5 along the Calabash River. Photo submitted by DenisDotson on 03/28/2020

A Shotmaker's Course; A Chiropractor's Dream Course
West-East course itself was in great shape for the most part. Some odd grasses on the tee boxes made it seem more like a gentle rough than a manicured tee box but that's my only "complaint" on the course conditions. Greens were perfect Bermuda craziness. .
The cart parts were another matter - some of the worst I've EVER seen on a course at this price point. I'll be seeing my Chiropractor a lot over the next few weeks.
From a design standpoint, this was a shotmaker's course, requiring some advanced golf skills. For example, there was one par 4 that suggested a fade drive off the tee, yet the fairway sloped to the right, into a water/tree/swamp hazard area. So the correct play was a draw into the fairway in order to hold the fairway. Diabolical!
The Pearl - worthy of a replay
Good quality greens, fairways and tee boxes. Evidence of hurricane cleanup; a bit more to be done. Would play again without hesitation!
Only for the $$
Made a tee time as a single player on Golf Now. When arrived there was a large group 8-10 foursomes. Starter said would get me out but was not too interested and sort of blew me off as he was focused on chatting with the large group. I told the starter I was going to the putting green about 20 yds away. After about 40 minutes I asked the starter about status of my tee time. He said I missed my time because they could not find me and said he would work out something. Apparently didn’t look to hard Finally got out about 50 min later than my tee time with a very nice twosome. We played the front in about 2 hours and waited on every hole. When we made the turn we were now behind additional groups as they double tee. After 14 holes I was 4 hours into the round ( not counting the 50 min delayed start). I left. They are really not about providing an enjoyable golf experience but rather how many folks they can collect greens fees. There are too many other fine golf course in Myrtle Beach where I can enjoy a round.
Good course which has changed a little in the last few years
Played as a twosome on a very blustery, cool and windy day as hurricane Ian was approaching. Last time we played here, there was an 18 hole east course and an 18 hole west course (that was a few years ago). This time, there were three 9-hole courses, East, West and North. We played West and East. Our golf watches still had the old east and west courses though, and the carts didn't have GPS but after a few holes we figured out that t least on our GPS watches, the new East course was playing like what used to be the back nine of the former East course and the new West course seemed to be the back nine of the former West course. Not sure how North would fit in here so come prepared or hopefully your golf watches will be better updated than ours. Women's bathroom on the West course was out of order. On the East course, there aren't any bathrooms along the course. On the East course, there were 4 par 3-s so next time I'd probably ask to play the North course instead and the par 3-s are quite a bit shorter than I prefer (basically it seemed like each was about 100 yards to the pin) from the red tees. Interesting holes. Fun course to play.
Tough, but fun
Great course! Used all the clubs. Greens were fast and undulating.
Excellent condition
Course in excellent condition for end of summer in NC.
Nice layout
Greens in great condition. Nice classic course. We really enjoyed it.
