Feeding time on the 15th hole! Photo submitted by JackStraw6 on 08/31/2017
Fun Time
I loved this course even though I was playing like crap. This was my first time back to the area in over 20 years. I had more fun (played like crap, remember) taking pics of the gators than playing golf. We don't see to many of these guys in Ohio.
Oyster Bay in decline
Played here last 8 years ago, course routing, layout is better than most. Sadly it isn't the Oyster Bay it used to be. Some bad area's, little grass near green's, edges of fairways, and on a few green's. Cartpaths falling apart,no repairs being done. Starter gave us the usual crap about staying on the paths, exiting the fairways where the signs were as if the course was in top notch shape,it isn't but still worth playing accepting the shortcomings. Alligator's out basking all over including a few large 10 footer's. Marsh veiws excellent. Bag drop guy was friendly.
Slow Play, Bad Course Management
Starter was rushing groups to tee off only to run into incredibly slow play. We paired up with another 3-some(6 of us) and consisGently waited for the 4-some in front of us.
Ranger didn’t do their job.
Beautiful layout that needs some management TLC.
Really rough
Does not live up to the hype. Grass in rough was totally dead and rock hard. Only course in area without green grass! WAY over priced for the condition.
Course is Overrated and Overpriced
The course seems to have gone downhill since we last played it a year ago. Very rough cart paths, super hard and thin fairways and rough bumpy greens. Also found the inside staff to not be very customer oriented. I
Clubhouse is aldo very dated. In my opinion, the course needs to be improved significantly to justify the very high green fees being charged. I will not play again until course conditions improve and/or the green fees are reduced.
Great History
This course was a jewel with many distinct features and views. Course condition has deteriorated to the point I would prefer to have memories of yesterday year.
Overbooked
Course is great but they send players off both 9s which makes the round much slower than it should be.
Very scenic golf course
This is our favourite course in the Myrtle Beach area. When the rates are reasonable we definitely make an effort to play this course. It is a very scenic golf course. Depending on the weather you will definitely see your fair share of alligators.
Great layout
Great layout and price is fair. Condition of course is an issue. Seems like it is not a priority like it used to be.
Great as always
One of my favorite courses, it was fun and the couse was in great shape
Rob M
Some of the tee boxes had bare spots as did some of the greens.
MLH
Course was in great shape with a couple of exceptions- some of sand traps were not in good shape and a couple of fairways were needing some work- the heat index was about 110° so we could see why these problems existed. Overall the course was a great place to play.
