Perfect vacation course.
If you’re on vacation and playing new courses this is a perfect choice. Best course in Santee, though Lake Marion’s no slouch either. This one was far more forgiving though with nice big greens that weren’t overly protected or elevated. Cart was included but I chose to walk it as that’s usually my preference and found it very doable and enjoyable. Front nine is linksey and the back is forested which mixes it up nicely. Really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the terrific couple we played with. If you see this Tony and Janet, it was truly a pleasure and I hope our paths cross again someday.
Great course
Great layout, good greens and great value. I will play this course again soon.
Good time
For this time of year the course was in great shape considering all the rain we have had, staff was great , let us go out earlier than our tee time, Greens rolled true, fairways looked great
Santee National solid golf course all the way around
I played this course in dormant conditions with a light overseed, so it wasn't at its best. Still, it was easy to see how enjoyable this course is, even during wet, cold conditions. The holes are laid out nicely with a good deal of variety around the five lakes on the course. Greens are interesting, but not severe, and the topography is beautiful, which I'm sure I would appreciate even more if it were spring or especially fall. In short, this is a course anybody can enjoy.
Perfect Dayton and for golf
Call it luck of the draw but it was a day when every thing just went right. The weather was perfect, no wind, sunshine, mid sixties. The course was a little wet in spots but manageable and otherwise perfect. We were able to play at our pace without ever having to wait or feel pushed. The greens were medium/fast, in great shape and rolled true. I know I played way above my pay grade hitting fairways and greens with such pinpoint accuracy that I had to pinch myself from time to time. I obviously left with a smile and a memorable round of golf. Just wonder why I can’t play like this every time.
Great course !
The course was in very nice conditions except for two or three greens were just a little rough in spots. The greens were very fast and true. Played the round in 3 hours and 10 minutes. The staff was great.
Great Time
The course was in good shape for November. Nice layout and challenging greens.
Tip Top
Played here as a part of our Santee package and were not disappointed.
Course was in fantastic shape. With the exception of a few tee boxes that needed a bit of work (Bermuda + Shade tough to manage), tee-to-green was great. Greens rolled smooth and had minimal imperfections. We were able to roll around and play another 9+ after finishing our AM round.
Santee National will continue to get the nod from our group each trip.
Great Golf Course
Player the course in late September. Conditions are excellent. There is plenty of challenge on this course but not too difficult, very playable course. Bermuda greens are tricky to read, must pay attention to the grain. Greens are excellent and receptive to incoming shots. Highly recommend this course. You will not be disappointed.
Great course that requires a good strategy on each hole
Very nice course with an excellent layout that requires a good strategy on each hole. I highly recommend it.
Unique course layout
I have 4 dogs, so my joke for the course is that I'm sure there are more dog legs on the course than in my own home. I was surprised the par 3's didn't have dog legs. But seriously, it was a great course. It isnt long, but its personality presents it's own challenges. The greens were in great shape, good speed, and the fringes were puttable. Overall, it was a great course and I would beyond a shadow of a doubt play again.
Great Course
Very hilly, be prepared to adjust yardages to compensate for elevation changes. Well conditioned, greens rolled true and fast. We played 36 holes and I never had to roll my ball in the fairway to get out of a bad spot.
Greens not good
Fairways real good. Greens spotty and not a lot of grass putts would bounce. Layout very nice.
Great Shape
Greens were rolling true No crabgrass around greens, fairways in great shape.
Good round. Good course.
Santee National remains one of the most affordable and we'll maintained courses around.. there are new golf carts. All the fairways were nice and green. The greens were in good shape
The restrooms were clean. The bridge on hole 10 needs to be replaced. Otherwise it was a good golf outting.
One of the best in the south
Have played here numerous times. Always a treat. Greens were faster than normal which made for some challenging putting. Course conditions were A+++++.
