Santee National Golf Club
About
Santee National Golf Club possesses all of the charms of the Carolina Lowcountry but it is also nicely contrasted with highland terrain. The course sprawls across rolling hills covered with moss-draped live oaks that demand accuracy. Both the scenery and the challenges continue with pristine white sand bunkers that stand out against the lush greens. There are also five sparkling lakes throughout that come into play on several holes. The front nine is wide open but the course narrows as you move onto the back nine and it also becomes more wooded. It is a tough golf course but more forgiving than it seems. As the only Golf Digest 4-star rated course in the area, Santee National has a longstanding reputation with locals and it is also popular with visitors.

Santee National
Course was in very mice shape. For this time of year. I like the layout of this course, challenging, but fair. I recommend this course.
Great Course - Highly Recommend
2nd time playing this course, and I will play again when I'm in the area.
No problems. The course was in good shape for this time of year.
Spring golf
Course was in great shape for early March. Rough was still brown, but fairways and greens were in good shape. Nice electric carts with GPS tracking to keep players away from sensitive areas.
Love this Course
A little rough around the edges but in good shape - excellent architecture- makes you play every club in your bag!
Great southern course
Greens were in great shape for the winter time and course was in great shape too. Pro shop employees are always nice and friendly. I enjoy playing here.
Fun Course great value
Though the Bermuda fairways were dormant the course and the greens were in great shape. All the bunkers were redone last year and are really good. Staff is great
and the pace of play was good
Very good value for the money.
Enjoyed the round with 3 buddies who also had a great time. Pretty interesting. Quite a few dog legs and some surprising elevation changes to be so close to the coast. In fact, on some of the blind up hill shots, worth taking a look at the green first as some have multiple levels not visible from the fairway.
Only complaints:
15th Hole
Greens keeper must have been angry when he set that flag as even well struck shots with wedges could not be stopped.
Two of our players hit great putts that were rolling so slow you could read the logos as they approached the hole but they still ended up off the green. Another played from below the hole and the ball stopped and then rolled back to almost the exact spot! No pars but a lot of laughing!!!
Tee boxes - more than a few were wet, uneven or lacking grass.
Cart paths:
Some real teeth rattlers!
All that being said, I will play it again!
Not a good time
Very unfriendly staff, course was below average at best. Guy in the pro shop needs to find a job where he doesn’t have to interact with the public. Terrible experience. Do not recommend. Drove off the cart path one time and they come fussing.
Wonderful Friday Afternoon for Golf
Great course along 95. Challenging layout and greens
Nice course
I'd play here again. Front 9 was easier, a few holes on the tighter back were a bit out of whack. Like a 205 par 3 from the whites? My average driver is 210. Every thing considered the greens were nice, the fairways smooth, and the rough benign. No complaints at all.
Don’t skip this one!
What an excellent layout and course conditions.
Green speeds were not lightning quick enough to keep your interest, especially down grain downhill. I read in another review that this was a golf course with many dog legs and placement golf. There were only three or four holes that required this type of play, which was a good mix with the more traditional holes. I will play it again in a second when I am in the area.
