Crystal Lakes Golf Course
About
Crystal Lakes is a municipal golf course located next to Dillon Park in Sumter. The course originally opened as a nine-hole course in 1989 but expanded due to popularity. It offers plenty of challenges but it is a course that will reward good course management and strategy but it is not overly punishing if you're errant off the tees. The course quickly introduces you to its challenges with water hazards coming into play on the first five holes. The opening hole is a tricky par 3 that has a unique peninsula green. The rest of the par 3s on this course are no easy feat either. Crystal Lakes may not be the area's most challenging but it is one of the best values in a destination that is known for its golf.

The course is awesome for the price, greens were very slow. Didn’t know the layout and there are many doglegs, so I managed to give this course a couple golf balls SMDH. The greens on the back are in poor shape but I enjoyed it, for the price I will definitely play it again.
Good round
Nice course friendly staff, greens need some water/maintenance
Dont need driver on every hole
I suppose its too early to tell and in couple months the greens and fairways will be much closer to ready than in march.
My umptenth time playing
Almost every month my father and I make it a goal to go golfing. This course may not be the prettiest but holy cow is it fun. Anytime we go to crystal lakes there is practically no one there and we have free range of the course. As so said it’s not the prettiest but for the money it’s so worth it. The course is extremely fun especially in the front with semi open fairways and great grip and rip par fours. The back can be a little challenging (DARN YOU WATER) but allows for a quiet pace and good atmosphere when playing the more challenging holes. Overall this course is one of my favorites and will be for time to come!
Another great round
For the money overall this course is becoming my favorite course in the Midlands, The rain makes it a little tough but overall I enjoy it tremendously.
Worth the effort
Okay course. Price was great, Will think twice before making the drive to play again.
Great for the price
Through the GN app I don’t mind the 45 minute drive for the price of $14 for 18 and a cart!!! I’m a low D grade if you’re grading A-F the 18th hole is a Par 3 with a front and right side water hazard I finally hit the green on my 5th outing If I recall it’s the longest Par3 I’ve played
Better Than Expected
Course was in very good shape. Much better than expected for the cost. The layout is pretty challenging. If you don't pay attention to the layout for each hole you can end up in trouble. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely go back.
Bang for buck
I played 18 here with a cart under $20 on a hot deal so I went into it without much reservation. I read up before hand that the back 9 was added after the fact and you can tell with the hole layouts. The greens are in mildly to bad shape but it’s a great time killer course. Especially for the price. There’s some unforgivable holes with the water positioning that can be frustrating to any golfer. Over all great course to shake the rust or spend a lazy day.
Fun course
Course is in good condition. Good size greens that rolled well. Made for a fun round. Will play again.
Great value
First time playing here. Great value for the money. Greens were in excellent shape. Pick up a couple clubs from the stash of used clubs.
The back 9 needs to be redone and the greens had a lot of I think mold. it could be taken better care . it has a lot of potential.
Great lil course
We love this lil gem not long by modern standards but great for high to mid handicappers my wife luvs this course for that reason I play off single figures and I love the the wedge workout and the finish is awesome great value for money only comment the tees need some watering to soften them up
Good value
Great price for basic but enjoyable course. Front side greens much better than back side. Back side hard, mostly barren but for poanna sprigs. Fairways pretty good and much better layout than expected.
