Need grounds keeper
Course in awful conditions.
Every green was almost half bare and rough.
Tee boxes so hard you could not get a tee in the ground.
Sprinklers running in fairways during course of play.
Staff arrived an hour late to open up.
Don't waste your time or money.
Course is in horrible shape. Not much grass on the greens. Greens are mainly sand and fairways are bad too.
Just plugged the greens
Greens were just aerated and sanded and were in fairly terrible shape, so putting was not great. Several tee boxes were moved up to areas not usually tee boxes. Overall the course was not well groomed but for the $10 deal, it was worth the money (probably not worth $20). Fairways were in decent shape. Enjoyed the round in spite of the area near the greens. Played from the middle tees which ended up being very short on most holes.
Worst course I have ever played
I did not expect a PGA tour experience for the price I paid, but I believe that there are minimum standards for a course. My main complaint are the greens. They had craters, divots, and washout all over them. There is no way you can get an accurate score with this discrepancy. If they can correct their green issue, then I think it would be a great bargain.
Needs Repair
I played a solo round on midday Friday in April. I finished in 3 hours. While that is awesome, the course was not. The Red Course is in terrible shape. The fairways are all brown and riddled with divots. Many areas of the fairway and first cuts are so hard you might as well be hitting off of cement. Many of the cart paths are full of roots forcing you onto the hole to pass.
I will say the white course was in better shape. It was less patchy, and appeared to have been watered somewhat in the week's previous. The course does pose some difficulties with varying elevation changes, water and sand hazards. I was fortunate not to hit any bunkers on this day (they looked like they hadn't been raked all season).
The driving range left a lot to be desired. They have roughly 6 "mats" that are basically just green welcome mats. The grass surrounding the mats that is used for hitting is completely neglected (nothing but divots in hard-dried grass/dirt).
The course is cheap and is maintained as such. I would suggest if playing to take a buddy or two and have a liquid round. This is not a course for serious golfers.
Good day of golf
Played the Blue/Red course fairways were really good condition as were most of the greens. Great course for the money and convenient to Columbia.
This course has 27 holes!!
Nice course right in the middle of columbia that is affordable which has fairly fast greens
Great day of golf
Purchased golf for a foursome on Golfnow that included breakfast. Breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, grits and toast and was well prepared. The staff did an excellent job of getting everyone out in a manner that resulted in no wait time between holes. There was never anyone closer than a hole behind us the whole day. I will definitely play there more often.
Tough greens
The greens were some of the smallest I've seen and I think maybe two holes were flat. Better get your putting game up!
Great course!
We played the white and blue sides. The greens and fairway on the white side were in very good condition, while the greens on the blue side we only in fair condition. I would recommend this course to friends.
good course
I've been to this course perhaps 5 times in the past and i've enjoyed myself each time. Good course, friendly staff. will visit again.
The course is well maintained and they offer 27 holes
Fun, short, little course , we enjoy playing the course a couple of times a month.
the staff was freindy
The course is in pretty good shape. The fairways look really good, but the greens are on the small side and where very hard. I teed off at 7:40 and they where watering the greens and they where still hard. I didn't mine the speed but it is next to impossible to hit the greens on the fly and hold them. Over all I will play the course again just will take in account the greens and adjust my game to it,
fairways well kept, but greens need a lot of attention.
Overall, this not a bad course for the money.... As long as you pay through golfnow.com. Otherwise way too expensive for course quality.
greens
The course is in good shape except for the greens. Feel burnt. Other than that I give a great rating.
nice staff, great deal, terrible course
The course is a good deal but in terrible condition. The tee boxes are so hard, you can barely get a tee in the ground and the lack of grass around most greens makes missing these postage stamp greens a nightmare. If that didn't make things tough enough, most of the grass is dead and many of the greens are cut to different lengths. Additionally, there is no care given to the greens as every one is littered with deep ball marks and cleat marks. I will not be playing here again.
Great layout for all levels of play.
Fun course with great layout. Its an older course but maintained very well.
Good for practicing
Good course with tough greens. Fairways are basically straight arrows. Scenery in February was poor because most things were still dead from winter
Small hard to hold greens.
Course is great for working on your short game (chipping/pitching), since the greens are small and hard to hold. Also needs more bunkers.
Needs a complete makeover.
1. To start with there was no order or control to people starting play.
2. The fairways are pretty divoted and in serious need of patching.
3. Most of the greens were hard as concrete and covered in sandy patches.
