Greens are important
Bumpy slow unreadable from any direction. Ball never once rolled without bouncing and jumping. Slowest I’ve played on since last year in the fall.
Great course
Really enjoyed our round, the course layout is fair but not easy. The fairways were a bit rough, but the greens were very nice and true. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I will definitely return to play again.
Weekday Hot Golf
Nice round of 18 with my son. Got out before lunch but the 2nd 9 was pretty hot. Had a nice time. Course is decent but dated. Would certainly go back for the money paid.
Average
Greens are bad due to aerating and sand added. Fairways are good.
Maybe the worst course ever played
This course is in awful condition, will never return. The worst fairways I have ever seen. Course is/has been neglected.
Nice layout but that’s all
The was easy to navigate
The course was a great course to play but some of the greens need a little work, and better food selection, another than that I enjoyed playing there can wait for June to come I want see what it look like
Worth the money
The course is a good place to play in the off season. Sometimes in season the fairways are not cut and you can lose your ball in the middle of it.
Layout has potential. Maintenance could be better
A former municipal course that has been upgraded throughout the years. The course layout has very strong potential from its layout but grass needs to be cut, wet spots are super muddy/wet, and greens could use quite a bit of work. My cart was a bit funky as well. It’s a decent course for under $25 but not sure I’d make the drive out from Charlotte again. Slower pace of play
Spring Lake Golf Course
Fairways and areas next to fairways need mowed. They were doing some mowing but most holes need it. Greens were in good condition. The ninth hole is terrible and has been that way for over two years. Tree down blocking cart path. Course needs some TLC. Overall it’s an ok course to play.
Improving
Spring Lake has one of the best layouts I have played and is improving as the summer continues. Seems like they have hired way more grounds crew than normal and moving in the right direction as far as getting the bunkers like they should play and grassline cuts on and around the greens as well as fairways. Could still have a few ugly growth cut down that actually comes in play on multiple holes but overall great course to play and would recommend to anyone
Excellent Value!
The course is a great value especially for beginner and intermediate golfers! The course conditions, layout, and pace are decent/fair but they exceed the price. The staff is great! It does lack amenities but if you’re just focused on getting out and playing I highly recommend It!
Best I’ve seen it look
This is the third time that I’ve played here and this was absolutely the best I’ve seen it look. The greens were in great shape but you need jackhammers on some of the tee boxes. Pace of play was beautiful, I was only able to play nine but I will definitely be back. Did not like the extra $3 per golfer charge for individual carts (at least that’s what the owner told me)
Good value
Have played this course many times. Given the heat and drought lately, was pleasantly surprised at how good the greens were. Overall the conditions were better than in the past. The fees are low so it is worth the money.
