Great Course, Ignorant Golfers
Loved this course. Very forgiving and just a pleasure to play. The greens are Great and could probably be the best greens in the area, if some ignorant golfers would just fix their ball marks...
Greens are in great condition
Brevofield is a nicely run family golf course. The course itself is not to demanding, but is kept up nicely. The course is very fair for beginners to low handicappers and is a fun course to play. I was really surprised at how well the greens were playing. I have played this course 3 days in a row, and wish I could play it once more before I head home. The only thing that I noticed that I think could make the course better, would be to cut the tee box grass down a bit lower. Other then that, I really enjoyed the staff and the course.
in the best shape I have seen in a long time
This course is good for any and all levels of skill. In years past, I was disappointed with the condition of the fairways (bare and dusty), but it looks like they are getting sufficient irrigation. The greens are always in good condition. Will be back there soon.
Greens are well maintained, Tee boxes and fairways need attention.
Brevofield is one of the budgets courses I always play. The staff is very friendly and you can always have a great conversation with them. One thing that has always stood out to me is the greens. They are always well maintained, and cut to a good speed.
One thing that has always been an eyesore is the tee boxes on the course. Some tee boxes are sloped at an upward angle making you to feel uncomfortable when you're swinging. This is something a few dumptruck loads of fill dirt could fix.
Worst course in the Raleigh area
There were no fairways or areas of rough, it was all cut like the first cut. Will never go back
Greens are in great shape
This course is a very fun place to play and be...its laid back atmosphere and rolling terrain will sneak up on you and challange you. It plays longer than the card because of elavation and exposure. Kind of a mix between links and somewhat Ross like....
Good if this is your first time
I don't consider myself picky when it comes to where I play golf, but this course is ridiculous. I honestly felt as if someone had an extra 45 acres behind their house and decided to try and make some money by putting some greens on it. There is no difference between the fairway and rough (the entire course looks the same besides the greens). There are no obstacles outside of plants, with only a handful of very small sand bunkers. Cart paths would randomly disappear, leaving you to drive wherever you want. On most of the greens, any putts over about 5 feet and you can see your ball bounce. This course may be worth it if it only cost a dollar a hole to play, but I feel like I can go to much better courses for the same price.
Course was well woth the money
The course had few players, all holes were well kept for this early in the season.
nice open course to play anytime
They have done alot to improve the greens last year. In 2012, the greens were as nice as courses costing twice as much. Some of the carts are a little beat up and there is no ranger to make twosomes pair up, so pace can suffer at times. Overall, a great value on a scenic course.
Great for newbie!
This is what I call a "budget" course....meaning no frills. For a new player, this is ideal. I can find my wayward shots easily, I can make more putts due to flat greens, and generally have a feeling of confidence. If i were experienced, I would want more of a challenge (sand, water, etc).........but for me, it was great and a great value.
I enjoyed playing the course, but they need to manage the flow of golfers better.
We had a 12:30 PM tee time. However, they don't seem to pay much attention to tee times. There was no starter on the 1st tee, and no one managing the flow of golfers. We were in line to tee off as many others were, and a single golfer teed off and headed down the fairway that should have been matched up with a two-some or three-some in front of us. Also, once we got our round going, we never saw a ranger riding around to check on the pace of play. I like this course, but you're on your own after management takes your money.
Course is getting better making it a good value when you shop for reduced online prices.
Due to being a Holiday (Vetrans Day) it was crowded and the pace of play was slow. The course was in ok condition for the online rate. The issue here is no tee times required and lack of having a starter you have singles, doubles and threesomes going off at will, which contributes to the slow pace of play.
If you're looking for a no frills round, this is a great value
Not a country club experience, for sure, but if you're just looking to get out and hit the ball without a lot of cost, wait time, etc, this is it.
