Great Value and Beautiful Course
Just what I needed on a mild summer afternoon as a getaway from a conference, and it didn't break my wallet. Found a deal on Golfnow and played both the Dogwood and Blue Ridge Courses. Got rained out on last hole, as can be expected in the summer time, but still worth it. Course was in good shape. I loved the mountain views and scenery; can imagine it would be even prettier in the Fall. Not a particularly long course, but does have a few challenging holes. Course had a friendly staff and good accommodations. I would play it again and try to play the other Carolina course.
Friendly Staff and beautiful course
Just an overall nice, relaxing experience in the mountains of Western NC. A real pleasure for anyone wishing to escape the heat of the Piedmont or the coastal areas of the Carolina.
Great golf better views
Found the deal from Golf now and was very impressed. Great condition, somewhat challenging and very fast greens. Course was a bit short but if played from blues would be fine.
Wonderful Views
Played this course with three other friends on the way back to Tennessee from the US Open at Pinehurst. Nice course in great shape with wonderful views. Got a great deal on 18 holes through Golfnow. Arrived early as a tournament was ending and they got us right off. Staff was very friendly, pace of play was good. Had some rain just as we finished front nine so had some lunch at the Tap Room Grill (excellent and not too pricey) while waiting it out. Back nine was great as it was cool and overcast with wispy clouds floating around the mountains. Course is not terribly long even from the back tees and has some drivable par 4's. Overall, it was a great experience for the deal we got and I would return for a similar price.
Worth a stop
My wife and I played while traveling through the area, and had a fun time with the course. Was a weekday summer afternoon, and very few people seen on the course. Conditions were typical NC mountain course, fairly wet but playable. Tight course and not long at all- we had a good time. Resort looks a bit rundown but they are caring for the course.
Wanyesville
Great course. Not difficult for shorter hitters. Greens very good.
Amazing views
The views on the Blue Ridge and Dogwood course were amazing. The course has a lot of elevation changes on these courses and was very challenging. If you find the rough, it is very difficult to advance the ball very far. I loved this course and was pleased to be able to find a good rate on Golfnow
great course
With 27 holes this club is a must play. Very little if any waiting we felt like it was all ours. Very well maintain and fun to play, somewhat of a shorter course but difficult enough for a fun outing.
Short Courses
Don't need a driver on any of the three 9-hole courses. Two 3 woods or less will get you to the greens. Greens were nice with the fairways plush and easy to hit off of. There are spots of clover in the fairways which should be taken care of. Tee boxes were nice. A little pricey at regular price. I would play again but at a discounted rate.
Beautiful Vistas
There are three nine hole loops. We played Carolina to Dogwood. Both 9's we beautifully manicured. Only complaint was greens are spongy and slow with lots of poa in the greens. Some of the greenside bunkers on Dogwood need work (standing water, little sand). The Dogwood 9 also feels tighter and somewhat contrived, whereas the Carolina 9 feels like a great old course layout. The views are beautiful throughout the course, we had a very enjoyable time.
cool mtn air and views
27 hole course in the beautiful mountains of Western NC. with accommodations and golf packages for groups. Not too difficult
Close to Asheville, Maggie Valley and Cherokee
Awesome Views
Course was pretty and very manicured. Carts are fast and powerful. Would go back if ever this way again.
Great golf coarse
Great coarse, great golfing, great view and great people. Fun playing there as always. Great food in the restaurant
Beautiful mountains
The course was in great shape. The greens could have been a little better. Sand Traps were hard, need to be raked out.
Beautiful course
Great golf. Fairways, greens, and ruff in great shape. Bunkers awefull.
Great mountain course
I am not a great golfer, but this course was perfect for me. Not too long from the senior tees. Smallish greens. Beautifully maintained. Excellent directional signs because the 3 nines intertwine a bit. Long treks between some of the holes, so if you want to walk, you better be in good shape. Surrounding mountain scenery is absolutely gorgeous.
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly
The staffs was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Not too many people on the course the day we played. The mountains surrounding the course were scenic and attracted us to play here. We found that the course was not groomed very well. Lots of mowing issues. Traps weren't raked. We were pestered by some sort of knats or small bugs the entire 18 holes. It was worth playing just to be in the scenic surroundings of the mountains.
Well kept course
The course was well kept. Upon arrival I was greeted and the course was explained to me. I asked if I could go to the range and hit a few balls. They explained they were to busy and the range was closed. Overall a good experience.
Good value with the discount from golf now
Great course good shape not crowded but was charged a rider fee for a nongolfing rider.
fun course
Course was in very good shape. Fun to play.
Nice scenery
