This course has a great layout.
I love playing this course! Excellent shape, a lot of different elevations, and the views are awesome!
Reems Creek also has a great driving range, and is very affordable to play.
From the head pro Hart, to Heather and Kristen in the pro shop, their service is always with a smile.
Good, but Could be Great
Overall, I had a very pleasant round, and the layout is potentially outstanding, but the course conditions were disappointing. The traps need immediate attention, the fairways were inconsistent in quality and the greens are slow. However, the mountain views are fabulous and the track is actually a very nice one--just invest some time and $ in maintaining it properly and you'd have a gem!
Nice course
Nice course. Great customer services. Price is reasonable. Recommended for people out of town to go play there.
Reems Creek
Although the course was windy but sunny it is a very nice course. I like hilly courses and placement of each shot is critical here. But the greens, fairways and waste areas. Are well maintained. The cart paths are annoyingly bumpy. Views are great of surrounding mountains.
challenging Layout
have played this course numerous times over the years. The last few years the course has been woefully neglected. Current manager and new greens keeper have made great strides in restoring the course, Greens and fairways in very good condition, tee boxes much improved. However, the traps still need to be replenished with new sand, and not the mixture of sand and red clay that is like concrete after a rainfall. The cart paths are in terrible shape and will rough you up if not careful. Hope they take care of that real soon. All in all a very challenging course layout and well worth the price.
Course conditions way better now.
You can tell that Reems Creek is putting effort into getting the course back in good shape. It's now a pleasure to play-the greens are in very good shape, and the traps look good with the new sand in them. As the weather breaks, this course will get better & better. Great layout & excellent views. A very fun course!
Great Golf
The course layout is fantastic. Even though the course was fairly busy, I didn't hear the word Fore at all. The staff help was really friendly. and I thought they were genuinely happy to be working there I am looking forward to golfing this course when the weather is a little warmer.
getting much better
the course is getting better.the greens are in solid good shape-better than i would expect this time of the year...traps need a lot of work and tons of sand..things are slowly getting better
Lots of leaves
I've played this course many times over the years and the course use to be one of the best around WNC. This however is no longer the case as the course maintanence is not well maintained. There were leaves basically covering the entire fairway of hole number 1. The cart paths were in terrible condition and can be dangerous if not careful. With that being said we only paid $17 versus the normal $39 rate seen on Golf Now frequently so that made it enjoyable. The staff was friendly and allowed us to go off the back since there were several foursomes teeing off on the front which really sped our round up as rain was expected that afternoon! If you can get it for a price less than $30 it would be well worth it!
Much Improved!
I have lived on the course for the past seven years, and I have observed some significant improvements in the past several weeks. The greens are in great condition, the tee boxes are now being mowed around, and are in good shape. The water hazards have been groomed, and the course in general looks the best it has looked in five years. The bunkers still need some work, but have come a long way in the past couple of weeks. It has always been one of the most scenic courses in WNC, and is getting back to the pristine look it used to have!
Great value...Great course Condtion
Played a 730 am tee time...staff was on point and attentive to our needs. .... Course fairways are nice and maintenance. ..Greens are in above average condition for this time of the year...General Manager was on site and was very professional and was I believe genuine in his care for the players. ..Will be back next week with some business partners...
Not so good anymore
I played this course about 5 months ago and it wasn't to bad and just played it again recently, the course conditions were terrible ,there was high grass in all the fairways and was just terrible. On a good note the greens were very well kept up but that was it. I will probably not play at this course again.
Much better than I expected
After reading all the reviews I almost didn't play here. On vacation with family and had one morning to play and needed to stay close to our cabin. With much reluctance based on all the awful reviews I decided to book at reems creek. It certainly could use some love...some holes (looked they actually were working on it) more than others. But for $29 at 9am in the summer...come on. Beautiful layout. Greens were rolling great. I'd pay $29 to play here anytime. People need to relax on the 1 star reviews.
Beautiful views, poor shape
A few years back this course was well worth a $40+ green fee. The clubhouse, range, and putting green are great. Great mountain viewswith a shot makers layout. ..a little wonky but still really fun. In regards to Asheville area courses, it was worth a small premium over Broadmoor, Asheville Muni, and Black Mountain muni. Not anymore. It's really slipped in the past few years. The greens are okay but the fringe and traps are absolutely miserable. The fringe is dead with a few patches of grass here and there. Almost all traps are rock hard, unplayable, and overgrown.
I'll keep giving it a play 2-3 times a year with a Groupon or Golf Now hot deal, but until maintenance improves I will not bring out of town guests or pay anything more than $20-$25 to play. I'm assuming Warrior will re-invest heavily in the years to come. They definitely have Broadmoor in tip top shape which a few years back was not the case. If they don't re-invest, local golfers will likely continue to stay away.
Not worth the money
Lost all of the greens. There is pretty much no fringe just black dirt. Tee boxes are all sand for the most part with no grass. Thought this would be a great course since it's owned by the same company that owns Broadmoor but it wasn't anywhere close. Save your money and play somewhere else
Course Needs Work
A group of us played on 8-9-14 and the course was in really bad shape even though when I called a few weeks before I was told it was in good shape. It had rained heavy the day before but the course was in rough shape before the rain with lots of bare dirt patches in the fairways and tee boxes. Some of the bunkers had nothing but dirt or minimal sand. One of the maintenance guys said they had some broken irrigation pipes. The greens were OK but overall this course needs quite a bit of TLC. We had bought a discount coupon and only paid $18 per person which included a cart so it was a good deal. This is a very scenic course but unless the ownership makes a commitment to maintenance there are many other courses that are better in shape you should consider including Springdale in Canton, NC which was more scenic and in far better overall condition.
Mean
Didn't care for way course was groomed. Ladies tees were too close on par 3's. Blind tee shots should have had target stakes for direction guidance. Water was not present in at least one station. Cart paths were in need of repair in many places.
Lacking in maintenance
The staff is great! Clubhouse is fine, carts are in fine shape and include yardage screen and tips! Most greens are nice, some are getting worse. Some tee boxes are terrible. Parts of the course are dug-up with no end in sight for completion having seen the same stuff earlier this year. Even though you don't play golf on the cart paths, some places are just terrible. Fairways generally good. It is hilly and a pretty good layout.
Good value, they are perhaps striking a balance for how much they can maintain and the prices they charge.
Roller Coaster Ride
The greens were in great condition, which is very important when considering overall quality of a course. The sandtraps had no sand in them. Difficulty is above average due to the number of shots being hit with zero view of what is ahead. We actually got lost a couple holes, because there are very few signs pointing you to the next tee box, but a lot of paths crossing.
